The more Salome thought about it, the angrier she became. After leaving the hospital, she paused on the steps outside and sent Bryan a message.
"Have you prepared the money? If I don't see it soon, I'll release the report and ruin your reputation. Get ready for prison!"
She hit send, expecting Bryan wouldn't respond soon, especially since he hadn't been answering her calls. With that, she made her way to the side of the road to hail a cab.
As soon as she sat down in the car, Bryan's reply pinged. "30 million dollars is a significant amount. Give me a week."
"Okay," Saloem replied, a satisfied smirk spreading across her face.
She glanced out the car window, shooting a scornful look toward Hugo's hospital room.
With a sneer, she muttered, "You think it's my bad luck causing trouble, huh? Well, I'm through with both of you. You're the real misfortune, a pair of doomed souls. Enjoy growing old alone!"

Freya spent the next two days wrestling with her thoughts. After recalling how close she had come to dying at Chandler's hands, she decided to visit Colin to gather more information.
She carefully chose the afternoon, hoping to avoid encountering too many people in the house. As expected, only Seth and Tiana were there.
In the living room, Seth sat on an armchair, absorbed in his tablet, while Tiana fed him fruit. Their intimate gestures were hard to miss, and Freya felt a twinge of discomfort in her chest.
Yet, for the sake of her own well-being, she swallowed her emotions and walked in.
"Dad," Freya greeted Seth, placing the supplements she had brought on the table. "How are you settling in here?"
"Things couldn't be any better with you not around to get on my nerves," Seth replied, his face hardening. After hearing about Freya's confrontation with "Kaylee" at the resort, he couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment in her.
Freya felt a rush of embarrassment, but with Tiana there, it felt too awkward to act coy or offer an apology. She simply let out a quiet sigh.
"You two can talk, I'll go check on the medicine in the kitchen," Tiana quickly excused herself, offering them some privacy.
"Well, didn't you say he was sick? Once Germaine marries Jenson, we'll be family. As his future sister-in-law, I should at least check on him, don't you think?"
"It's good to see you're thinking about these things for once," Seth said, his tone softening with relief.
He nodded, his expression turning more serious. "Chandler's condition is grave. He's been in a coma for days without showing any signs of improvement. I'm not sure he'll make it.
"They say patients need sunlight, so we've moved him to the first room on the left on the second floor. If you really want to help, maybe you could ask your business contacts for a recommendation for a good doctor."
"I'll make a note of it and check when I get back," Freya said absently, rising to her feet. "You should rest now. Let me help you upstairs."
Seth was pleased with her change in attitude. "Bringing your sister back was the right choice. You're doing much better now."
Freya forced a smile but remained silent.
Before Germaine returned, Freya had always been Seth's favorite. Now, it seemed like everything she did was flawed in his eyes. Deep down, she knew the truth—Seth's affection for Germaine was far stronger than for her.
