Margaret lunged at Queenie like a mad woman. "Bullshit! Bullshit!" she screamed as they began to grapple.

The onlookers found the scene too intense to intervene. Eventually, Evan arrived hastily with others to separate the two.

Margaret's eyes were red as she glared at Queenie. "You bitch, I won't let you off. Don't you forget this."

Evan's face turned dark as he slapped Margaret. "Enough. Do you want to disgrace us further?"

That slap subdued Margaret. However, Queenie was undeterred, "Margaret, evil begets evil. Your despicable actions were bound to backfire. Thankfully, fate intervened, sparing the Newton family from your clutches, you disgrace."

Evan was openly insulted for the first time, though not directly at him. Still, he felt furious. "Take her away," he ordered the security, who promptly escorted Queenie out.

As Queenie was led away, she continued to hurl insults.

Margaret was frantic. "Uncle, you can't let her go. If she leaves, it's over for me. If I want to stay in this social circle, Queenie must be silenced."

Evan ignored her plea and instructed Margaret to be taken away as well. The hall regained its superficial calm. Despite the respect for Evan, people privately embellished and spread Margaret's actions.

Before Evan could finish, Helen smirked. "Mr. Leonard, you're quite dismissive. A simple 'sorry' doesn't cover the severity of the situation. Do you think we're fools?"

Evan hadn't taken Helen seriously until she spoke up. He glanced at her coldly. "Margaret is still a member of the Leonard family. At most, she just attempted to do something incorrectly."

Helen was shocked. "So, drugging someone is trivial to you, Mr. Leonard? Perhaps your grasp of the law is weak, or maybe you're considering retirement?"

Evan's expression darkened at the insinuation. He knew his position depended on his influence. Retirement would mean the downfall of the Leonard family.
