Chandler looked closely at Helen and noticed her makeup was thick. He hadn't realized before how heavily she applied it. "I'm just fastening your seatbelt," he explained.

Helen felt awkward and quickly said, "No need. I can do it myself."

After fastening her seatbelt, Chandler moved away and started the car engine. "We've got a get-together tonight with the brothers. Do you want to join us for a drink?"

Helen knew he meant the other Newton siblings except for Zac. She declined without hesitation. "No thanks. Just dropping me home would be fine."

Chandler raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong? Don't you want to spend time with us?"

Helen shook her head. "You're overthinking it."

Adrian organized the night's gathering. It was a chance for the Newton brothers to unwind. They usually attended alone without any female company.
