"Heh… She's feisty. I like it." Another man took off his coat and forced himself onto Helen. Helen immediately felt disgusted and struggled nonstop. However, the other men stepped forward and pinned her down. She couldn't find the strength to get out.

Helen looked at the old and damaged roof as her heart brimmed with desperation. She slowly closed her eyes while tears streamed down her face silently.

Suddenly, there was a loud bang.

Helen opened her eyes wide.

"Helen!"

Chandler yelled out her name and saw what was happening. His eyes reddened in anger, and he hurriedly ran to Helen. Chandler kicked away the men on her and took off his jacket without hesitation to cover Helen.

Helen looked at the man in front of her with blurry vision as she felt aggrieved. Then, she started crying. Chandler's heart was broken when he saw her in tears.

"How dare you kick me? Get him, boys."

Chandler shot a cold glance at him and beat up the men swiftly. In an instant, they were all on the ground.

Then, the men quickly got up from the ground. However, when they got to the exit, they saw Adrian standing there. Adrian crossed his arms and looked at them with a piercing stare. "Well, run. Why aren't you running anymore?"

The men looked at each other. Then, the leader of the men, Anthony, quickly said, "This is all just a misunderstanding! Please let us go. If we meet again in the future, I'll definitely return the favor."

Right after he said that, they heard sirens outside.

Helen slowly got out of his embrace and looked at him through teary eyes. "Do you have any idea how desperate I felt at that moment… I was so scared…"

Before she could finish her words, Chandler leaned in and kissed her. She couldn't say anything else.

"Let's not talk about it anymore. Come home with me."

Helen nodded, and Chandler helped her up. After making sure she wasn't injured, he carried her out of the building.

They didn't say anything while they were in the car. Helen was still terrified. She couldn't figure out who would do that to her and wanted her dead.

The car stopped at the residence Helen was currently staying at. Chandler held her hand and said, "We're here. Let's go."
