Chapter 78 novel Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities
"What are you doing, Chandler? Let go of me!" Helen instinctively struggled.
She was embarrassed. If it weren't for the darkness, it would have been easy to see how hard she was blushing.
Chandler frowned and asked, "Didn't you say your leg hurts?"
Helen replied, "But I can walk."
"It's okay. It's dark right now, and the path is slippery. I'm just going to carry you a short distance away."
Since Chandler had already put it that way, Helen had to swallow her words and obediently let him carry her. He carried her to a large stone on the side to examine her injuries.
"Fortunately, there's no bone damage, just some superficial wounds. We'll apply some medicine once we get back."
"Okay. Thank you, Chandler."
Chandler instructed one of his subordinates, "Contact Jenson and have him meet us at the foot of the mountain."
"Yes, Mr. Chandler."
Then Chandler said to Helen, "I'll carry you down."
It wasn't a question; it was more like an announcement. Helen quickly declined, "No need. I can walk by myself."
However, Chandler ignored her and crouched down in front of her. Helen hesitated for a moment before finally climbing onto his back.
They started to move down the mountain.
Helen's heart was racing. This was the first time a man had carried her like this.
"Helen, what are you thinking? Stop entertaining nonsensical thoughts right now," Helen silently told herself. She was trying to suppress any distracting thoughts as Chandler carried her all the way down the mountain's rugged path.
Helen initially didn't want to involve the Newton family.
After all, this was her personal conflict. She wouldn't let anyone off, regardless of who they were.
Once Helen returned to her room, she locked the door and contacted Taylor.
"Helly, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Do me a favor." Helen sent out a few texts and closed her computer.
She wore an exceptionally charming smile, but there was a hint of danger shrouding her.
The next day, Helen took a leave of absence from school.
