Chapter 88 novel Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities

Esmond asked after Helen finished reading. "What do you think?"

Helen could only be honest and said, "South Group's financial report looks very impressive, with almost no apparent issues. However..."

Helen paused and glanced briefly at Chandler. "However, there is one piece of data that I find problematic."

This statement immediately caught Chandler's attention. Esmond remained composed and asked, "Please go on, what seems to be the problem?"

Helen flipped to the fifth page of the financial report and pointed to a specific data set. "In the case of the New Era project, it appears to be profitable according to the financial report. However, when you compare it to a similar project, you'll notice a significant difference in profitability. This raises some questions."

Helen's observation was direct, and she pointed out the issue plainly.

For the same project, the same investments were made, but the profits were vastly different. It was hard to believe that there were no issues.

Esmond smiled. "Well done, Helen! You have a keen eye. Chandler, have someone investigate this."

Chandler nodded. "Yes, Grandpa."

"Oh, I heard during the meeting that you were discussing the need for a translator?"

This matter troubled Chandler a lot. With a good salary, finding a translator for common languages was relatively easy. However, finding someone who could translate Alirian, a rare and obscure language, was extremely tough.

"Grandpa, I will continue to follow up on the translator issue. We will find a suitable candidate soon."

"Good, if that's the case, I won't interfere too much. Just remember to exercise discretion in all matters."

"Yes, Grandpa."

Esmond got up and looked at Helen. "Helen, stay at the company for now. You can go back with Chandler later as I have some matters to attend to."

"It's okay, Grandpa. You can go ahead. I'll head back by myself later."

Chandler cut her off and said, "Don't worry, Grandpa. I will take her back later."

"Alright, take care of her." With that, Esmond got up and left.

Chandler had his secretary take Helen to a resting room. "You can rest here in the meantime. There are snacks in the cabinet, so feel free to have some. I'll take you out for dinner after I'm done."

Helen was embarrassed but nodded. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm not a child anymore."

Then, Chandler's expression turned serious. "I promised Grandpa that I would take care of you, so don't make it difficult for me."

Helen shrugged, but she didn't reply to that. "Can I use your computer?"

Chandler had his secretary bring a laptop. Once Helen was all set up, he returned to his office.

Helen's fingers danced swiftly on the keyboard. Lines of code flashed across the screen at a dizzying speed, but her focused gaze never left the screen. Finally, the screen displayed South Group's recruitment system.

Helen looked at the top, where it prominently said, "Hiring Alirian translator." She had heard them discussing the search for an Alirian translator. Coincidentally, she had previously taken a course in Alirian, so she was familiar with it.

Helen clicked on "Apply". Meanwhile, in the CEO's office, the assistant became pleasantly surprised. "Mr. Chandler, someone just applied for the translator position."

Helen started translating after receiving several documents, and the sound of her keyboard clicking filled the rest area.

Time passed quickly, and Chandler went to the rest area when he finished his work.

He saw Helen's eyes focused on the laptop screen. When he approached her, she quickly switched the laptop's window to the latest popular TV series.

"Let's go and have dinner together."

Helen pretended to close the TV series on the screen and said, "You're finally done. I'm starving."

Then, she shut her laptop.

"What do you want to eat?" He asked.

Hesitantly, Helen replied, "I feel like having some oden again. How about going for oden?"

Chandler raised an eyebrow. "Can't you eat something else?"

Helen shook her head. "It's a habit I've developed over the years. I'm afraid I can't change it."

Chandler couldn't do much about it and said, "Alright, let's go for oden then."

Chandler took Helen to the familiar oden place, and her face lit up when she smelled the familiar aroma. "Boss, give me one oden, no, two oden sets."

"Sure, please have a seat. It'll be coming right up."
