Helen leaned back on her seat and rested. When Chandler saw her sleeping face through the rearview mirror, he let out a smile. It was a subtle expression, yet it carried a different kind of warmth.
Helen turned on her computer immediately when she got home. She accessed Chandler's company computer and quickly erased all traces of her activities from the afternoon.
Then, she continued translating the Alirian documents. She worked tirelessly until midnight and successfully translated the first volume of documents. After she had gathered them, she sent them to Chandler.
Chandler replied instantly, "You work so efficiently! Looks like I need to give you a raise."
Helen was baffled. However, she had never intended to work for free. While part of her reason for helping Chandler was to reciprocate his earlier assistance, it didn't mean she wouldn't charge him for her services.
"As long as the boss pays well, I'll work efficiently."
Chandler smiled at her response and found her to be quite interesting.
"Don't worry, you won't be underpaid!"
Chandler then added, "Provide me with your account details, and I'll transfer your payment to you."
Helen was speechless. Was he really that straightforward?
Helen needed money, but she couldn't let Chandler know her true identity. So, she provided him with a made-up bank account.
In less than five minutes, Helen's account received "one, two, three, four, five... one million!" Helen was dumbfounded. Was Chandler really this generous?
"Report!"
Gerard had been strict with students who arrived late before, so Helen thought that she would surely be reprimanded. However, he smiled and beckoned her in. "Come on in!"
Helen was taken aback but quickly entered the classroom.
"Mr. Ziegler is really biased. He just let her in like that."
"Tsk tsk, she's all of the teachers' darling now, so how could they treat her the same as they treat us?"
The two classmates whispered to each other, but Helen had no idea what they were discussing. She simply took her seat. However, Gerard called on her once more.
