As they walked a few steps, Colin struck up a conversation. "How's Uncle Wyatt been lately?"

"He's well and in good spirits," Helen replied.

"And how about you, Ms. Spencer? What has brought you to Dardford? Perhaps there's something I could help you with," Colin suggested.

"It's nothing important. I'm just here on vacation," Helen replied absentmindedly. They soon arrived at her room.

"Alright, this is my stop," Helen said. "You should get back to your business, Mr. Craig."

As Colin glanced at the room number, a brief look of regret crossed his face.

However, he quickly covered his unease with a polite smile. "Ms. Spencer, before you head inside, may I have the pleasure of exchanging contact information?"

"Is that really necessary?" Helen asked. "I'm not much of a socializer."

"Think of it this way," Colin said with a warm smile. "Throughout our lives, we meet countless people, but not everyone gets the chance to cross paths again. This brief encounter is enough for me to want to stay connected with you, Ms. Spencer."

He then pulled out his phone and held it out to her. "Would you?"

With Colin phrasing it that way, Helen felt that refusing might come across as rude. Plus, for Wyatt's sake, she knew it was best not to offend Colin.

Fortunately, her quick thinking saved the day.

Helen smiled faintly as she took the phone. She promptly entered a series of numbers before returning it to Colin.

Colin accepted the phone with a cryptic smile. It felt as though he had just received something of immense value.

Unbeknownst to them, Otto stood at a nearby corner. As he watched the scene unfold, his eyes darkened, and his fist tightened at his side.

Without hesitation, he walked toward them.

"Since we're friends now," Colin said, tucking his phone away and pressing his luck, "how about we have breakfast together tomorrow?"

"Ms. Spencer, do you know this person? Is he drunk? Should I handle him for you?" Colin expressed his concern.

"No!"

"Get lost!"

Helen and Otto exclaimed simultaneously, catching Colin off guard.

Otto turned toward Colin, shooting him a fierce glare. If Colin dared to lay a hand on Helen, he would be in serious trouble.

Helen appeared conflicted. She had no interest in dealing with Otto, but considering Colin's overly eager demeanor, owing him a favor could potentially lead to further complications.

"He's actually a friend of mine. We have some things to discuss, so we won't inconvenience you further, Mr. Craig," she said.

With that, Helen quickly helped Otto to his feet and opened the door to her room. In one swift motion, she ushered him inside and firmly closed the door behind them.
