Helen glanced down at her phone, lost in thought. The doctor Otto mentioned must be Shawn.

If Destiny Corporation could locate someone like Lina, then they were more formidable than she'd imagined. It seemed like a no-lose situation for her—so why not take the chance?

"With you being so generous, why would I refuse?" Helen said.

Otto's chuckle was soft and knowing.

"I'm curious," Helen continued, her tone sharp with curiosity, "with you pouring so much into this, aren't you worried you might not get a return on your investment?"

Her words carried an undercurrent of challenge, hinting that she might take advantage of Otto's efforts without reciprocating.

"If I invest my resources wisely, I can make them back. But a partner like you, Ms. Boston, is special. I don't like to give up easily, and I loathe quitting without a fight. So, I'll do everything I can to change your mind. Just don't shut me out completely," Otto said, his voice surprisingly sincere.

Helen's lips curved into a smirk. "Sweet talker." She ended the call with a decisive tap.

That evening, someone from the Cunningham family arrived.

Helen went to the door and looked down at the man in a tuxedo at the bottom of the steps. "Who are you?" she asked.

"I am Eren Cunningham, the Cunningham family's butler," he said, bowing politely.

"Mr. Eren, what can I do for you?" Helen asked, her expression innocent.

Eren handed her the exquisite gift box he was holding. "Ms. Fiona knows the Boston family is busy and might not have time to prepare evening gowns. She personally selected gowns for you and Ms. Faye and instructed me to deliver them to you."

Helen raised an eyebrow.

"No problem," Eren said, his voice taking on a fatherly tone. "As long as you wear the dress properly, you'll be just fine. And you're young—if you make a mistake, it's unlikely anyone will hold it against you."

Despite himself, Eren felt a flicker of affection for her. Her earnestness was disarming.

"I understand. Thanks a lot, Mr. Eren!"

"Just doing my job." Eren gave a curt nod and turned to leave.

As his car rolled away, Helen's smile faded instantly. She grabbed the box with a steely expression, mentally applauding her spot-on performance of feigned naiveté.

At this rate, she might just consider a career in acting.
