Han Xin stood in his office, his hands braced on the wide table scattered with maps and plans of the city. His eyes were fixed on the papers, but his mind wasn’t there.

It was drifting, pulled unwillingly to Xiang Yu and the storm of emotions still raging inside him. The jealousy hadn’t cooled not even a little. It burned, hot and relentless, a bitter ache in his chest that refused to fade.

He replayed the scene in his mind: Xiang Yu laughing, chatting with Da Hei, their heads leaning close together. Da Hei’s hand had touched Xiang Yu’s arm, casual and friendly, but to Han Xin, it had felt like a punch to the gut. He had always known Xiang Yu was magnetic, effortlessly charming. But seeing it up close, directed at someone else, had ignited a fire in him he couldn’t put out.

The wind howled outside, fierce and unrelenting, slamming against the office window with a force that rattled the glass. Sand swept through the air, obscuring the view of the city beyond. Outside, people hurried to take shelter, their voices muffled by the storm.

Han Xin’s chest tightened, but he quickly turned away, pretending to focus on the map again. He could feel Xiang Yu’s presence instantly, the energy in the room shifting as he stepped inside.
