Edward shook his head lightly, his eyes deepening in coldness.

Since when did he catch a cold? Some ungrateful fool must be talking about him behind his back.

Seeing as Josh and Edward were descending the staircase, the old butler approached them.

"Master Edward, Young Master Josh, good morning."

Josh nodded as he fixed his gaze on the main entrance of the house. "How is mother?"

The old butler shook his head before saying, "Mistress is nowhere to be seen, I checked this morning. I didn’t see her anywhere."

Josh's eyebrows raised. "Did you send someone to have a full sweep of the area?"

The old butler answered. "We've looked everywhere, but we couldn’t find her."

Edward carried Josh into the bathroom calmly. "Don't worry. She's an adult, not a child. She wouldn't have waited the entire night outside. She's probably back at the Bennets' place.

He handed Josh the electric toothbrush.

Josh took it before they both stood side by side and brushed their teeth by the sink.

Edward and Josh opened their mouths synchronically and spat the foam out. They then gargled for a few minutes before putting back their toothbrushes.

Josh looked at Edward with a tinge of hesitance. “No matter what, mother is still a woman..."

Edward's face turned cold as he wiped Josh's face with a face towel. "She asked for it. She can't blame it on anyone else."

As Josh was going to defend Rue again, Edward carried him on his shoulder and walked out of the washroom.

At the dining table, there were only Edward and Josh. Even though it was missing Rue, they both felt a collective relief seeing that their appetite had improved tremendously.

"Josh, are you still going to school today?"

Edward asked without showing any emotion on his face.

Without a pause, Josh nodded. "Yes, I want to go to school!"

Edward nodded too and passed the glass of warm milk to Josh. "Alright, I'll send you to school."

Josh was a little stunned. Although he looked elated, he shook his head at Edward. "Father, there's no need. I know you're busy, so Pennyworth can send me there. It's alright."

Edward sent a hinting glance at the old butler, who responded by clutching his stomach and yelped. "Oh, my, my abdomen hurts! Young Master Josh, I'm afraid I won't be able to send you to school today, so Master Edward will have to do it!"

Josh turned toward Edward calmly. "Pennyworth, you're clutching your stomach, not abdomen..."
