“He’s bringing me something I forgot. You can ask him yourself when he gets here.” Helena added with a grin. 

It wasn’t long before Matthew arrived, scanning the room before spotting their table. Helena waved him over, 

When Matthew mached them, he also looked surprised to see Whitney and Yvette there. 

*Hey, sis. Tveite,” he greeted, flashing an awloward smile. Despite his effort to appear mature, his college–kid vibe was unmistakable complete with a backpack slung over one shoulder 

Yvette patted the seat beside her. “Sit down!” 

Matthew hesitated but ultimately sat next to Helena. Remembering why he was there, he pulled a folder from his bag and handed it over. 

“Thanks,” Helena said as she took it. 

Whitney asked, “Matthew, is it true you’re interning at Helena’s finn?” 

Matthew glanced at Helena, who was sipping her drink, “Yeah, figured I’d give it a shot, Didn’t expect to get in, though. Thanks, Helena Helena waved off the gratitude, her cheeks flushed from her drinks. “Don’t thank me your talent got you in. No favoritism here.” 

Seeing Helena take another drink, Matthew frowned. “You’ve had quite a few. Maybe you should slow down?” 

Empty glasses surrounded, evidence of her pace 

“I’m fine,” Helena replied berezily, raising her glass in a toast with Yvette. 

Whitney noticed something odd as she watched them–her brother Matthew’s eyes lingered on Helena, and the way he looked at her was telling. He liked her, Matthew seemed to malize he wouldn’t win the argument and stood up briefly. When he retamed, he placed a glass of water in front of Helena 

“If you won’t stop drinking, at least have some water,” he said, listope concerned.
