Chapter 206
Priscilla, seated nearby, seethed with rage, her eyes burning with fury.
Back then in Sandspire, Yuna was a nobody, barely noticed by anyone.
Her mother was merely a maid whom Pat bedded in a drunken stupor. Unexpectedly, she conceived and gave birth to Yuna. Although Yuna was indeed Pat’s daughter, in the eyes of the noble ladies of Capitalia, she was nothing but a bastard child.
As a bastard child, she was beneath notice.
Priscilla never imagined Yuna to have secretly mastered so many tricks up her sleeve.
‘Yuna is even more cunning and devious than I ever imagined,‘ Priscilla fumed inwardly.
Yuna swept her gaze over. Priscilla, who had been furious just a moment ago, quickly lowered her head, not daring to meet Yuna’s eyes. Yet, the hatred in Priscilla’s eyes only deepened.
Yuna ignored her completely, turned back, and cast an indifferent glance at Jessica.
Jessica was sipping her coffee, her delicate brows slightly furrowed, lost in thought.
Yuna thought contemptuously, ‘She’s just a pretty airhead.‘
Yuna swung off her horse and silently took her place behind Waldo.
The event was still underway.
After the procession of princes and royal heirs had passed, there remained one last noble of royal lineage.
Finally, it was the Yates family’s turn.
As soon as the Yates family stepped out, a wave of muffled snickers rippled through the crowd.
The crowd thought, ‘A women’s brigade? What an absolute farce!‘
To think Garbisch actually brought four women to compete in the Autumn Hunt! Among them, only Alivia had a little fame. The other three? Two were complete nobodies, and the last one–Jessica–sure, she was well known, but wasn’t that just for her looks and charm?
“Do you think she’ll fall off her horse later?” someone said.
“She’s such a beauty. What a shame if that delicate face got ruined in a fall.”
“It doesn’t matter. With so many men here, someone’s bound to play the gallant knight for the damsel in distress.”
“Who’d dare? Prince Waldo’s right there. Aren’t they afraid of getting on his bad side?”
“True enough. Who’d dare go after Prince Waldo’s cast–off?”
Pride mattered to men. They might discard a woman, but because she was once theirs, no one else was allowed to lay a finger on her.
As Garbisch walked out, he could clearly feel the malicious and mocking gazes from all around. He turned back, glanced at his companions, and bowec with clasped fists. “My apologies for involving you all.”
Alivia smiled and said, “People will talk–you can’t control that. So why let it bother you?”
Garbisch nodded and leapt onto his horse in one fluid motion.

Chapter 206
Suddenly, someone spoke with curiosity. “We all know Alivia and Karlie, but who is the woman behind them?”
The speaker was none other than Consort Adele.
Consort Adele narrowed her eyes and smiled. “General Garbisch, could this lady possibly be your…”
“Leanna.” Jessica met Consort Adele’s gaze with a smile. “Her name is Leanna. She was wed to my late uncle, Dayton, on the battlefield.”
Leanna’s eyes welled up, tears threatening to spill.
It was true that she got wedded to Dayton on the battlefield, with death hanging over their heads, not knowing if they’d survive to see another day. Jessica’s father, General Caesar, was their witness.
