So, Ms. Yates, you think I have some hidden agenda?” Leon asked, his tone calm and unreadable, making it hard to fall whether he was p displeased.

Garbisch immediately grew wonied that Jessica might upset Prince Leon.

But Jessica had already spoken, “I just think that rewards should be earned, not handed out for no reason I only hope Your Highness will be clear about your intentions”

“Ha, direct to the point, that’s rare,” Leon remarked, waving his hand dismissively.

Shawn quickly instructed the servants to being coffee and snacks to a nearby pavilion.

Garbisch and Jessica exchanged a glance before they followed his gesture and took their seats.

As soon as they settled, they saw Magnus take the silver spear that Garbisch had used earlier and start practicing with it outside the pavilion.

Garbisch was completely captivated, watching intently. Meanwhile, Jessica furrowed her brow, still trying to make sense of Leon’s intentions. Before long. Magnus finished a set of spear techniques and, with a swift motion, returned the spear to his side and stepped back

“Your Highness, is this…” Garbisch asked, both amazed and thrilled, though a little uneasy.

He thought, ‘The technique is brilliant!‘ He was itching to rush over and challenge Magnus to a spar

“This is Gail’s spear technique. Magnus and he sparred half a year ago, Leon replied, his eyes carrying an unreadable expression. General Garbisch is interested, you could ask Magnus for a few pointers. But if your pride matters more than the Yates family’s reputation, then forget I said anything”

Garbisch knew Jessica didn’t like accepting help without reason, but the reputation of the Yates family was crucial.

Besides, from what he had seen, he was confident that the Yates family spear techniques could counter this style–if only his strength was what it used to be. But his pride wouldn’t let him back down, and now he was eager to test it out.

Jessica sighed, helpless, Garbisch’s excitement was so contagious that she could barely keep him in check.

Finally, she spoke softly, “Just don’t hurt yourself”

“Alright, alright!” Garbisch jumped up, cupping his hands toward Leon in respect, and hurried out of the pavilion, pulling Magnus aside to discuss Gail’s spear technique.

“Why does General Garbisch, even though he’s the older brother, always act like he needs your approval before doing anything?” Leon asked.

His words made Jessica look away from the distant scene and lift her gaze. Her eyes immediately met Leon’s sharp, hawk–like gaze.

“You are joking. It’s always me, the younger sister, who listens to my brother…”

“So, Ms. Yates means that if I wanted to propose, I’d first need to get General Garbisch’s blessing?” Leon raised an eyebrow

Jessica’s expression instantly darkened. “Your Highness, please don’t joke like that. My reputation is already tarnished. If you keep this up, you’ll push me into an inescapable situation.”
