Jessica wasn’t the type to act out of stubbornness or impulsiveness. In fact, she wasn’t sure what Prince Leon was planning either.

Waldo was equally puzzled by this.

Among the various princes, none of them lacked military power. While their main forces were stationed in the border cities, each prince had his own garrison near Capitalia.

This wasn’t just the case for Waldo–his second and third brothers had their own forces as well

Prince Leon’s current power should be the largest among all the princes. Yet, his forces were all in the Northem Border, and the only soldiers he brought

back with him were the 3,000 elite troops.

This made no sense to Waldo. He was certain the other princes were just as baffled. No one knew what Leon was thinking.

“The more we don’t understand, the more frightening Prince Leon becomes,” Waldo said.

Waldo fixed his gaze on Jessica, “Jessica, we’ve known each other for years. We both know what kind of people we are. If you’re not with me now, does that mean you’re planning to align yourself with the unpredictable Prince Leon?

“Be careful. You might think you’re striking a deal with him, but in the end, you’ll be chewed up and left with nothing.”

The Yates family still had a hundred thousand troops under General Garbisch’s command. Jessica knew that if Prince Lean got his hands on those hundred thousand soldiers, it would make him even more formidable.
