Chapter 63
This was the first time Jessica had ever seen Leon lose his temper.
He didn’t say a word, and there wasn’t even the slightest change in his expression–but somehow, she just knew: he was angry.
The final thing he said before leaving even had a childish edge to it. What does it have to do with you? is that really something the cold, aloof Prince Lron would say?”
The commotion outside had already caught the attention of everyone inside the guesthouse.
As soon as Prince Leon walked in, Malik and Elsie personally came out of their moms to greet him. The place quickly filled with lively conversation.
“Jessics, what are you doing here?”
Outside, Waldo was still watching Jessica, though his tone had softened a
He had noticed Prince Leon’s anger too, but feeling that he might’ve gained the upper hand in Jessica’s heart today, he couldn’t help but feel a little
smug
“I’m here on the Queen’s orders, to deliver a gift to Elsie. Jessica finally came back to herself. She glanced at the convoy behind him. “And you, Your Highness–you’re here to welcome Malik!”
She wondered, “If Waldo has been sent to receive Malik, then why is Prince Leon here too?”
Once Jessica entered the hall, she found her answer–Prince Leon and Malik were old acquaintances. From the looks of it, they were longtime friends.
The idea that Prince Leon actually had friends felt… strange. He always seemed so aloof, so untouchable, as if he didn’t need anyone at all.
It was also Jessica’s first time seeing the legendary Malik. Tall, elegant, with striking good looks.
Unlike Prince Leon’s cold, imposing aura or Prince Waldo’s bold, easy charm, Malik was quiet–like a celestial being untouched by the mortal world.
And his looks were more than worthy
orthy of the title “fallen immortal.
“You into that type?” Leon snorted when he caught her stealing a few glances at Malik. “You like those pretty boy types, huh?”
Jessica felt a bit helpless. She wondered, ‘Is Prince Leon… jealous? The Demon, getting jealous? Better to tread careful
She lowered her head and said softly, “It’s only human to appreciate beauty, Your Highness. Please don’t take offense.”
Leon’s gaze grew even colder. “Shallow.”
Even after being scolded, Jessica didn’t get upset. She only smiled lightly, as if agreeing with him.
Leon stared at her for a long moment, a faint fire smoldering deep in his eyes–anger, barely restrained. But he said nothing more. Once outside, he swung onto his horse and rode off without a backward glance.
Shawn and Magnus chased after him, but even they couldn’t catch up
“Leon!” A girl ran out from inside the hall, her figure graceful and delicate, as lovely as a blossom. It was Elsie.
But Leon’s speed was insane–even Shawn and Magnus had trouble keeping up, let alone Elsie. By the time she got outside, he was already disapper into the distance; blink once, and even his shadow was gone.
“What did you say to him? You made him leave Elsie glared at Jessica, stamping her foot in frustration.
She had finally gotten the chance to see her beloved Leon, and now before they could even exchange a few words–he was gone. And she thought, “All because of this woman–this woman so beautiful she looks like a fairy. How hateful!‘
