Chapter 304 I Only Believe What I Saw
+8 Pearls
If before he had only suspected, then after yesterday, Johnathan was certain–Shane really did have feelings for Sierra.
He had no clue why that idiot thought using that approach to get close to Sierra was a good idea, but the way he looked at her. it pissed him off
Just thinking about that look made his blood boil.
That look–the amazement, the possessiveness–it was offensive. Honestly, it was a miracle Johnathan didn’t deck him right there and then. The only reason he held back was because of the Goodman family.
But if Shane kept pushing it! Johnathan wouldn’t mind helping Jade teach him a lessori
Maddox didn’t even try to argue anymore. Shane was a lunatic. That much was obvious.
His horse was clearly no match for Thunderclap, but he still insisted on racing Jolinathan. And the way he whipped it, damin pear beat the thing to death just trying to keep up. That’s why the horse snapped.
Now, the horse wasn’t quite dead–but it was done for. And Shane’s broken leg? That was on him. But the ranch still had to give the Goodman family an explanation
The whole thing just made Maddox angry. Shane really was a dumbass.
Thankfully, Shane was the only one who’d lost his mind that weekend. No one else came by to bother them. The next two days passed peacefully.
On Sunday afternoon, the group packed up and headed back to the city.
Before they parted ways, Johnathan looked over at Maddox. “If the Goodman family gives you grief, just send them my way.”
Maddox rolled his eyes. “I’m not some pushover. And come on, the guy whipped that horse half to death, then got thrown Who’s he gonna blame?”
He’d already shipped the dead horse to the Goodmans himself. Said it was an apology, but really, it was proof of what Shane had done. Let Jade see for herself.
Johnathan had just been making conversation. The Treno family didn’t exactly rank beneath the Goodmans. He had nothing to worry about
After a quick wave goodbye, he headed home.
Meanwhile, Sierra got back first. Dickson hadn’t even come home all week. All she wanted was a hot bath. But before she could even step into the tub, Johnathan showed up.
She shot him a look. “Mr. Yaeger, be a decent human being.”
“Can’t do that around you
And with that, he scooped her up and set her down on the bathroom counter. “Promise, this’ll be quick.”
Sierra didn’t believe him for a second. “Johnathan, your credibility here is deep in the negatives.”
He just laughed and stopped wasting his breath. Actions spoke louder anyway.
At least this time, he actually kept his word. Before long, he was carrying her to bed.
The next day, when Sierra woke up, Johnathan was already gone
What she didn’t know was that Johnathan was actually over at the Wynn estate.
Johnathan didn’t bother explaining. “Things have just been busy lately.”
