When Lucian saw that Asher didn't believe him, he was so frustrated that he actually spat out blood. He deserved it, it was his own karma biting back at him!

"Lucian, what’s going on? You’re spitting blood."

Alaric hurried over to help Lucian up, "I just saw Asher leaving with Evelina. What happened exactly? Asher mentioned that for Lemira's sake, you wanted Eve to go to jail!"

"Alaric, do you believe me?"

"Of course, I believe you."

Lucian recounted the events at the coffee shop the previous day, "That's how it all went down. But now the surveillance footage is destroyed, and Asher won't believe a word I say."

Alaric was in a dilemma.

"Lucian, it's not that I don't believe you, but without seeing the surveillance footage for myself, I can't just take your word for Eve being so manipulative and drugging Lemira. It's just too hard to believe."

"I know, it's hard to accept all at once. If I hadn't seen the footage with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it either!"

Lucian's face was pale, struggling to catch his breath, "But you can't just take Evelina's words for it."

Evelina was far from a good person.

Seeing Lucian so distraught, Alaric found himself unable to voice his thoughts. He nodded in agreement, "Okay, I promise you."

He did have his doubts, wondering if there was a misunderstanding between Lemira and Evelina. But Lucian looked terribly unwell.

Lucian grasped Alaric's hand, his voice trembling, "Also, could you find out why Lemira is on medical leave and which hospital she's staying at? Go see her for me, tell her I would risk my life to right this wrong for her!"

He owed that much to Lemira!

Alaric had no choice but to agree and left the hospital room to find out which hospital Lemira was in.

He tried to message Lemira, only to find out she had already deleted him. So, he tried calling her, only to realize he was blocked.

Alaric couldn’t help but ask, “Are there some misunderstanding between you and Eve? Did she really do those things?”

Alaric still couldn’t believe it!

"Huh, you go back and warn Evelina, she might have escaped this time by luck, but it's not over yet. Tell her to wait!"

After saying her piece, Lemira hung up, not wanting to waste another word on anyone from the Langston family.

She turned to Thaddeus, "The flash drive Lucian had, Evelina took it."

"Ha, why did Lucian have to faint at that moment, giving the fake angel a chance! Now that the footage is destroyed, we can't touch them."

Lemira scoffed, "No, even without the surveillance, I still have a way."

She wasn't going to let this go just yet.
