He left me no room to argue. I didn't want his help no matter how much I needed it. I was independent and strong headed I didn't cope well with taking handouts. Putting my cup in the sink I went in search for my child.
"Everleigh Thomas". I crossed my arms over my chest and raised my eyebrow. Church hadn't started yet and most of the guys were hanging around the bar area. My little monkey was sitting in her father's lap stuffing her face with chocolate. It surprised me that she had taken to him so well.
She giggled. "Blaze gave me chocolate". Shrugging her little shoulders, she continued to eat the chocolate buttons.
"Did he now. Well, I'm sure Blaze will have fun trying to put you down for a nap later". Sugar went straight to her head. It was a challenge trying to calm her down after she ate it.
"Asses to the table". Glaring at my dad he winked at me as he made his way through the back.
"Okay baby come with mommy".
"No I stay with Blaze mommy, I like him". She grinned turning her head her hand reaching up and pulling on his beard. "I like you". she whispered causing Blaze to smile a smile I hadn't seen in a long time.
"Everleigh come and get cleaned up".
"No I stay here". She pouted crossing her arms over her chest.
"Wow she has you down to a tee". Cage chuckled not helping the situation I was about to be in. She didn't throw tantrums much but when she did she blew the house down.
"Haven't you got church?". I glared pushing him away.
"Blaze a little help?". No way was he taking her in there not with the language they use and not with the things they talk about.
Watching him get to his feet he bent down to her level and whispered something in her ear. Something I couldn't hear. A grin spread over her face as she ran towards me cuddling my legs.
"Mommy Blaze said he'll take me on his bike later". Letting me go she ran off throughout the clubhouse.
"You what?".
"Calm down sweetheart we're bonding now keep your sweet ass close I won't be long".
Giving his back the middle finger, I smiled. He was trying to bond with her the best way he knew how.
"Who gave her chocolate?". My mom asked.
"Who do you think? Where is she?".
"Don't worry she's out back tiring herself out". She grinned. "Prospects are looking after her so go have a bath a chill out".
"I think I'll go check on her".
"Ava". Gripping onto my arm she stopped me. "Everleigh is safe she always will be now please go and have an hour to yourself. You look like you could be doing with it".
"Gee thanks mom". Kissing her cheek, I headed back to my room and did exactly what she said. Stripping out of my clothes I slipped into the tub my body relaxing as soon as the water hit my skin.
Leaning back, I closed my eyes enjoying the peace and quiet. My mom was right sometimes you just needed a little hour to yourself.
"Always have a bath with the door open?".
