In Hork General Hospital, Anastasia ran into the ward and looked at Amanda nervously. “How is he?”

“His condition just stabilized, but he may be paralyzed in bed in the future. He’ll need to rely on a wheelchair to move around.” Amanda sighed.

Anastasia breathed a sigh of relief and smiled ironically. “This is retribution.”

She wanted him to live.

He couldn’t die.

He didn’t deserve to die.

“Annie, did your father…mistreat you before?” Amanda asked in a low voice. “Where is your mother?”

Anastasia sat on the bench and smiled. “My mom is already dead. Cancer.”

“I’m sorry…” Amanda sighed.

“He didn’t raise me for a day but ruined my life.” Anastasia looked at Zeke, who was lying on the hospital bed helplessly… “This is especially after he found Meredith. I haven’t had a good day since then.”

Amanda sighed. “It would be good if your mother were still alive. Mothers can’t bear to let their daughters suffer.”

Anastasia’s eyes turned red. “Yeah. When my mom left, she wanted to take me with her.”

Amanda looked at Anastasia in shock.

“She often complained that she was trapped in life because of me. If it weren’t for me, she would have divorced Zeke long ago. However, it was because of me that she didn’t. She said I was a burden and a dead weight for her, telling me it would be great if I hadn’t been born. However, she also said she was worried about me before her death, wanting to take me with her. Do you think she loves me?” Anastasia looked at Amanda and asked in a choked voice.
