Chapter 202 

Jonas 

“You guys made a mess in Redwood, Rick sighs and sits down across from me. “Did you find what you needed?” 

“I’ll pay for reconstruction. We weren’t looking for anything. Just cleaning up a mess,” 

“Thanks,” he clears his throat. “Am I allowed to ask?” 

“No, and even if you were: I’m not the person who has any of the answers. I was just back up.” 

“Is she okay?” 

“I don’t know, but she’s not the one I’m worried about. We found a kid. Mackenzie Phurry’s son. That girl hasn’t been well since returning. She’s my cousin’s mate and I don’t think it’s a good match,” 

“Because she’s a wolf?” he sneers making me laugh. 

“Because she’s- I don’t know if she’s feral or if she’s getting there but there’s something wrong with her. Ferry plans on giving the kids to her and I think it’s a bad idea. She’s still a kid and I think we might have to put her in the- my phone interrupts 

Us. 

“Get that. Maybe I can get Luna Miller on the phone,” he says and goes over to his desk. I look down to see it’s Jordan. 

Hey, I answer. 

“Sir, we have a really big problem,” 

“Is Perry okay?” 

“For now, James and Perry are in her study with Mackenzie Jonas, I think she’s feral. She talking about killing the kids,” Tm on my way,” I hang up and go for the door. 

Rick follows behind me as 1 get to my car. He lets himself in. The main house is surrounded when we arrive and if I know Perry she’s got Mackenzie locked somewhere the wolf can’t get out. I run inside to find Jordan and the rest of her team outside of Perry’s study. 

“You’re not making it out of here, I hear Perry say, 

“You already know what I want,” Mackenzie growls, 

“Stay back,” she holds her hand out. 

James is in the doorway and she’s in front of him. Her eyes on fixed on the girl in front of her. I’ve been–around Mackenzie for a bit now and I know that the way she’s smiling at my mate isn’t in character with the way Mackenzie tries to make herself smaller. 

There’s a confidence that Mackenzie probably has never had in her demeanor. A malice a sweet girl that has seen too much never displayed. There’s no scent other than my brother’s and my mate’s. The only presence domineering the room is James’s. How the fuck did she go feral without shifting into the wolf? 

“Please, Perry, Mackenzie spiles. “We don’t have to do this. I don’t want to hurt you or anyone else,” 

“If that were true you would have killed them before coming to see me,” Perry lowers her arm and takes a step toward her. I reach out but she moves away anticipating my move. “Jen, I can’t let you leave. I owe it to you and Mack to put the both of 

you to rest,

“You owe us not ruining our lives. You owe us a brother. You owe us blood. But since we’re family All water under the bridge. Trash Bag 

“Why are you negotiating with this? Rick appears behind Mackenzie. I look back to see Jordan standing behind me. 

“Rick, don’t,” I shout. 

Perry takes another step forward, but James who is standing closer loops his arms around hers and pulls her back. I grab Perry around the waist and pull her out of the room. The sound of the Alpha King’s roar echoes in her study followed by a half scream that dies along with the girl. 

“Perry-” I try to hold her to me. 

“No,” she cries out pushing me away to get back in the room. 

Laying in the middle of the room is Mackenzie Phurry. Perry trembles as she stands over the body and then lowers herself to her knees slowly. She lifts Mackenzie into her arms. The Alpha King looks down at the two of them. His arm is covered in blood and in his hand, is Mackenzie’s bleeding heart. 

“Perry,” he tries to get her attention. 

“Get the fuck out,” James growls at him. “Get the fuck out of our house!” 

“That thing wasn’t Mackenzie Phurry anymore,” he says tightly. 

“Get out!” James roars. 

eyes and shakes his hand out. “I guess I’ll cancel that meeting with Luna 

“Your bathroom window is broken,” he rolls his eyes Miller,” 

I’m not sure what to do in this situation so I just let him walk. James takes a step back and seems to be equally as shocked as Perry who is just holding Mackenzie’s lifeless body. Her eyes fixed on the heart on the floor next to her. I step forward quietly so I don’t scare her more than she probably already is 

“Do you want me e to call Jake? He’s in the villa down the street,” tell her, 

“Yes, please,” she nods calmly. “Have him come here,” 

“Perry, James says 

with concern. 

“He needs to see what he did,” she brushes the blonde strands from her face gently. “Please, bring him, James,” 

“I don’t think I can do that after what she said. I’ll kill him,” 

“Okay. Then have someone else. Anyone. Just get him here,” her one is flat. 

“Someone bring him,” I order. 

“Alive,” Perry adds. 

“Tll get him,” Jordan is the one to speak up. 

There’s a long silence before Perry looks up at me as if just realizing I’m here. 

“I want you to step out and no matter what you hear, don’t come back in,” she says. 

“Why?” I look between her and my brother. 

“I’m going to kill him; she reaches up to cup my check. Tears slide down her face. “Very slowly and I don’t want you to see

“I’m not going anywhere,” I shake my head. “What’s happening? Jake is your dad,” 

“He was never anyone’s dad,” she says coldly. 

“Jo, listen to her, James motions me to leave. I’ll explain,” 

“I’m staying.” 

“Suit yourself,” she shrugs and drops her hand back to the body. James seems to snap out of it and goes over to her desk to pull out the office chair, There’s climbing rope in the closet. It’s pink.” 

He goes to the closet and brings back a bundle of rope. He begins to pull it apart. 

“Weapons?” 

“Floorboards. Code six–eight–four–three, she tightens her hold on the body. 

eyes fixed on the two girls on the “Perry?” the three of us look up to see jordan and Jacob in the doorway. He comes in his floor. I stand up as he slowly approaches my mate and his dead daughter. He takes a knee in front of them reaching for the girl. “What have you done? 

Before he can get any closer Perry’s hand lashes out and grips him by his throat. James rolls the chair around and she forces him into it. She takes the rope from my brother and begins to tie his arms down while my brother holds his shoulders. 

“What have I done? Perry tightens the rope and pulls the lever to recline the chair. She ties his legs to the bottom piece and stands up straight. He’s trying to get out of it but he’s trapped. “Do you know what that is?” she asks pointing at the body. “You did that,” 

“What are you talking about?” he growls. “Let me go.” 

“You had me fooled. You had everyone fooled with your sweet daddy facade. She told me everything, Jake,” 

James comes around to stand next to Perry. The two of them stare down at him. I reach out pushing Jordan out of the room to shut the doors. Whatever he did, the two of them are convinced that the only way forward is to kill him. 

Jacob looks between them. There’s not a single ounce of fear in his eyes. Like Mackenzie and Perry, there’s no scent or presence. He hiding it. All this time, the mother fucker hid being feral. He shrugs and relaxes into the seat. 

“How are you in your skin?” James asks.
