“Doesn’t anybody stay fucking dead?” I growl taking the safety of my gur 

“I think we were all hoping you would, she stands. I flick the lights on. “You killed me.” 

“You deserved it.” I remind her. 

“Did I Morgan walks over to my vanity and takes one of the King’s cologne bottles. I growl at her and fire at it. It explodes drenching her in it. “You’ve always been so quick to attack, Perry, It’s one of the things I loved about you growing up.” 

“What do you want?” I demand.. 

“Nothing,” she shakes her head and tries to shake the shards off her blouse. “I’m not mad at you. Actually, I’m annoyed it took you so long to get to me. Why didn’t you just shoot me in the fucking face when you were released from the hospital?” 

“I wanted you to suffer,” I shrug. “Like I was,” 

“Together even when we’re apart, hmm?” she glares at me from over her shoulder. 

“What the fuck happened to you? How are you here?” 

“Remember the guy I was talking to? He wasn’t a wolf. He’s like me a former. Where are your clothes? I don’t want to go back to him smelling like your mate, 

Lycans are weird. They don’t like closets. My clothes are downstairs in the closet in my study. I can’t let you go in there.

She looks like Morgan. From her long straight black hair, to the curves, and the big hazel eyes. She’s wearing black pleather/ bottoms with a bright red button–up. Her breasts look amazing in that top. I guess if she’s going to be frozen in time, it’s not a bad look for her. The edges of her lips upward in a small smile. 

“You look relieved,” 

“It’s fifty–fifty,” I lower my gun. “There are band t–shirts in the drawer on that side of the bed. The King likes to rip my clothes

“Been there,” she smirks. I tense when she disappears and materializes on my side of the room. She rips the blouse clean off her body. There’s a scar on her right side. She looks down at it and then at me. I was standing against the banister in the packhouse when your bomb went off. A piece of wood went right through me,” 

She takes a t–shirt and walks over to my bathroom to clean herself up. Jordan appears behind me. I hold my hand out to stop him from coming in. I don’t want her to bite him. I’m not sure what her intentions are. 

“You should get the girls out. Clean them up. I’ve got this,” 

“You sure?” he asks looking at Morgan’s back as she washes her belly where the cologne hit her. 

“Yeah, I nod. He hands me my gun and walks back the way he came. 

“You’re not even going to apologize for my son?” she asks taking one of my towels from under the sink.

“What did you want me to do?” she shouts. “You were supposed to kill him! I needed you to do one thing and you took your sweet fucking time, as usual. 

“He’s dead isn’t he?” I shrug. “We both got exactly what we wanted. Morgan.” 

You have no fucking idea what I had to go through,” she screams. Blood fills her eyes and slips down her cheeks staining her flawlessly pale skin. 

“I do. I was watching, I remind her. 

“You let that sick fuck hurt me!” 

“I did,” I nod. She sits on my bed looking down at the red bottoms on her feet. “At the time, I thought you deserved it,” 

“How do we move past this, Ami?” 

“Do you want to? For what?” I ask. 

“What do you mean for what? We don’t have anyone else. I can’t go home, Perry. Everyone hates me. It’s on sight for me while you’re fucking worshipped as the Wolf Bait. I don’t know shit about vampires except for what I’ve been learning from Micah and he’s not good at explaining shit. Now that I’m this, he’s kind of slow. I need you,” 

“Wait, you’re fucking Micah Estrada? That vampire?” 

“Yeah, how do you know him?” she looks up at me. 

“You’re going to laugh,” I scratch my forehead. “He’s my brother on my Dad’s side. I have a bunch of siblings scattered everywhere. Do you know Jesse?” 

“She’s my sire,” she nods. 

Jesse sired you?” 

“Yeah,” she laughs. 

“She’s my sister,” 

She stands up looking me over and then nods.

“Why didn’t you?” I jab her thigh where she’s hiding her gun. 

“I miss you,” she says quietly. “I hate you so fucking much. You took everything from me,” 

“Then why are you here? Things are messier than ever. I’m the Lycan Queen now and your boss just tried to come in here to–I don’t know. I don’t know what the fuck he was thinking. Hesa fucking moron,” 

“That’s what I told Jesse. If you were bad before I can only imagine what you’re like now,”

“You?” she snorts. “Why?” 

“Perry,” we both look up at the King.

“You’re a Lycan, bitch,” she shoves me playfully. “Does Violetta know?” 

“Violetta was the first to know,”

“I thought you were Darren back in Nova, I admit.

“You’re excused. It’s not that deep,” I shrug making her laugh again. She sounds different. 

“How is Annie?” I ask the King.
