Andromeda is barely keeping it together. As soon as she sees me she gets up and wraps her arms around me before looking back at my little cousin who is just watching her every move. Ace Savage is nineteen years old, but not like the average teens that age. Like his eldest brother, Godrick, he’s been groomed to take on shit most alpha pups can’t even begin to comprehend from a very young age. 

Annie, although she’s a brave little Lycan princess, has never had to do half the shit her brothers have, especially now that her mother is out of the picture. This kid has been the frontmat for a few war settlements worldwide. He’s versed in all things pack land laws and has even written a few for women’s rights. He’s the reason why I even qualified to be the huntress l became after Darren’s death. 

“Ace, I greet him. He stands up with a heavy sigh and to his cred. The guy looks almost ashamed about the situation. 

“Rick should be here soon, Perry,” he says quietly. 

“Why don’t you go get cleaned up, Annie? I have spare clothes in my study,” I rub her back. She nods and excuses herself. “What happened?” 

“1–uh,” he clears his throat and looks between Annie’s brothers and me. They’re pissed. I get that, but their anger isn’t going to solve anything. 

“Why don’t we step into the library? You guys stay here, I tell the guys. 

“We should hear this,” James insists. 

“No, you shouldn’t. This isn’t about you and if we’re going to get anywhere we have to be chill about this,” 

“We don’t do chill when it comes to Andromeda,” the King growls 

“Well, she killed people with witnesses around in one of the biggest social media run packs in all of wolf history. This isn’t just a little murder we can cover up. It’s a scandal involving both our families now. So, calm your fucking tits and let me talk to the kid without you breathing down his fucking neck,” 

“She’s right, my King,” Oz says and tries to escort them over to the tea room. “Til make tea,” 

“I want to know everything you do when you’re done, the King growls and follows her out. James looks Ace over once time before going with him.

“Tm sorry about that. It’s been a long fucking day, I motion Ace into the library. He sits down on the brown leather sofa, resting his elbows on his knees, and rubbing the back of his neck 

“Yeah, he agrees. 

“What happened?” 

“I landed this afternoon. I took care of some shit I needed to wit: Scofield and there was this little rogue omega in the courtyard. We went back to her villa and we hooked up. We were in the shower when the Lycan walked in. She came in. She knew and the moment she ripped the curtain open I knew. You don’t ever expect to find your mate while you’re balls deep in her roommate, you know?” 

I don’t know how to respond to that, I clear my throat trying my best not to laugh. The situation is dire and my stupid giggles are trying to overwhelm me. “Then what?” 

“Beth screamed at her and the other girls came running. What did you say

“Well, she legally can’t, I say softly. He looks up at me confused Lycans have very strict mating laws. Especially because there are very few Lycan females. It’s a population control thing. But you’re definitely going to have to have your work cut out for you where it concerns apologizing and making up for this monumental fuck up,” 

“Are you serious?” he sits up almost hopeful and this time I do finally crack a smile.

“He’s coming back from Magique,” he nods.

I walk him out to ensure the guys don’t do anything to him. They’ve multiplied though. Jordan and Silas are sitting in the tea room with them waiting for me. Once he’s in his car and driving away I head into the tea room. I try not to laugh but holy shit that happened to them. What are the chances?
