Matthew pushed aside the onlooking parents and rushed straight to me.

He was totally shocked by the scene that froze in place.

Caroline Clark's face turned pale, and a flash of guilt quickly crossed her eyes.

She hurriedly began to explain, "I'm sorry, but she was the one who provoked me first. She said she was going to take you and your son away at the wedding, and I was just so scared of losing you that I..."

Her words, disjointed and faltering, reached my ears, and I couldn't believe that even now, she was still falsely accusing me.

Matthew was on the verge of losing his mind, unable to listen to anything she was saying.

We had divorced because of disagreements of differences in how to raise our son, and our relationship had fallen apart. But after knowing each other for ten years, even though we were separated, we were still like family in a way.

At this moment, he knelt down beside me, his hands trembling as he gently lifted me into his arms.

He lent his car to his friend, so he had planned to take my car to the hospital, but when he reached the parking lot, he found that my car was unrecognizable.

The anger that had been building up in his chest exploded on the spot, and he roared at the crowd around us.

"Who the hell did this?!"

Caroline quickly followed out of the broadcast room, now timidly approaching Matthew Jones.

Her eyes were red, and she spoke with a tone of grievance, "Honey, how could you yell at me for this bitch? All our fans online are watching. I'm the one you're about to marry!"

Matthew lost control and yelled back, "Not anymore! You beat my son's mother like this, and you still think I'll marry you? You can forget about having any place in our family!"

Caroline’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"What? Didn't you say your ex-wife was gone?"

"She's not out of this world, just out of the house!"

She broke down, clutching her head with her hands.

I was about to break out between the two, trying to speak, but as soon as I opened my mouth, I suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Matthew was shocked.

Not tolerating with Caroline anymore, Matthew immediately got into the car and took me to the hospital.

I'm an orphan, and Matthew's parents have always treated me like their own daughter. They still don't know about the divorce because I didn't want to let them down.

On the way, I pleaded with him not to tell his parents.

But he flatly refused.

I wanted to say more, but as soon as I opened my mouth, I was overtaken by a violent cough, and blood began to trickle from the corner of my lips.

He looked worried and immediately changed his tone.

"Okay, okay, I won't tell them, just please stop talking, okay? I'm begging you!"
