But being an engaged woman, Esther quickly regained her composure.
Finnegan noticed Esther come back to her senses and looked a bit disappointed for a second.
"Do you get it now?" Finnegan glanced at Caleb and noticed he was a bit jealous and angry, but it went away fast.
"Yes, I got it, Mister Finnegan." Caleb forced a smile, moved between Finnegan and Esther, and said seriously, "Let's get back to filming."
Finnegan stepped aside.
Esther, however, was still caught up in what had happened. She thought she might have been wrong about Finnegan's affectionate gaze, but it seemed real. She felt he had feelings for her, especially after his chat earlier with Pearl.
During the filming, Esther couldn't focus. This time, it wasn't Caleb's fault; it was hers.
Caleb noticed she was distracted but didn't blame her. He thought maybe she was sick or still upset about before. "Esther, are you not feeling well today?"
Esther nodded, then shook her head. "I don't know, but let's keep going."
"If you're not up for it, we can take a break," Caleb suggested.
After talking to the director, who didn't want to upset Esther, they agreed to pause.
Caleb offered to take her out for some fresh air, but she said no. "I'll just stay here alone for a bit."
"What's wrong? Are you not feeling well?" Finnegan had been paying attention and noticed her discomfort. He didn't expect Esther to see through his thoughts so clearly.
Esther felt embarrassed and blushed. "A little, but I'm fine."
Finnegan, being observant, figured out what was happening from her dodging gaze. He lowered his voice, "Did my actions offend you?"
"No, it has nothing to do with you…"
Finnegan smiled, trying to make her feel better. "I might have gone too far with my acting," he admitted and sighed. "But that was just to make the scene clear for Caleb."
Esther felt more at ease after hearing this.
