Pearl had a sudden realization. She had talked to him recently, and if he was sick, she might be too. She looked really worried.

Seeing her face, Richard quickly asked, "Do you feel ill? Any fever?"

Pearl shook her head. "No, I'm not feeling anything." Even though James got sick three days ago, Pearl didn't feel sick at all.

"There's supposed to be an incubation period or waiting time before you feel sick," Richard mentioned.

Pearl smiled to make him feel better. "Don't worry, I think I'm fine."

"But what if you are infected? We've never seen this happen before, and it could be bad."

If there was no cure...

Richard didn't want to think about that. It was too upsetting.

Pearl wasn't sure what to do, but she had an idea. "I've been thinking about how to help the company, Richard."

Richard was surprised she was thinking about work at a time like this and sounded a bit annoyed. "You could be sick. Let's not talk about work right now."

After a bit of silence, Richard said, "I'm coming with you."

Pearl was shocked. "You don't know anything about this stuff. You don't have medical training."

"I can just be there with you and help however I can." Richard insisted on going with her. "If you let me come, I'll support your decision."

Pearl saw he really wanted to help, so she agreed. "Okay, but you must be very careful."
