Pearl quickly refused Santiago's offer. "I've already got enough on my plate managing Cerubleu. You should give the family property to Claude."

Pearl remembered what Claude had said to her before. If she took the Savary family's property, Claude might resent her forever. Besides, Claude had always treated her like a sister. She couldn't just take away the family property from him. She wasn't even interested in it.

But she didn't expect Claude to change his ways.

"Claude?" Santiago scoffed. "He's too caught up in his love life now. He doesn't have time or energy to manage my family's property."

Did Sabrina and Claude… get together? It had been four years since Pearl was last in her homeland. The economy hadn't grown much, but apparently, Claude's romance had.

Just then, a gentle voice interrupted them.

"Grandpa."

A little girl hurried over. Upon seeing the strangers, she hesitated. "Grandpa, who are they?" She was shy but bold.

Santiago's face softened as he saw her. He picked her up and swung her into the air. "My dear Callie, did you finish your homework?"

Calista Savary puffed up proudly and tilted her head. "Of course. Wasn't I quick?"

"Yes, Callie, you're the best." Santiago hugged her and introduced her to the others. "Let me introduce you. This is your Aunt Pearl, and this man here is her husband, your Uncle Richard."

Pearl felt overwhelmed by the whole situation. She hadn't expected such a mess. If she'd known she'd be dealing with such an irresponsible person, she wouldn't have come here.

"Hmm... Oh, Pearl. Don't be upset with Claude. He's always been this way. Maybe you could—"

Pearl suddenly coughed and stood up. "I've got another commitment today. I'll come back another time…" She then gave Richard, who was beside her, a significant look. "Right?"

Richard stood, smiling and nodding. "Yes, Blake just called. He wants to meet us."

Santiago was struck speechless. He looked disappointed but eventually sighed. "Alright. If that's the case, I won't press you. Come back when you're ready to discuss the property."
