Esther snorted coldly and ignored him.

Finnegan could tell she was okay just by looking at her face. He secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

"But why did you come to a blind date? Don't you love him anymore?" Finnegan was a bit hopeful when he thought this.

To his surprise, Esther grimaced, completely opposite to what Finnegan had expected. "Do you really think I'm here for a blind date? I only came because my parents forced me. I'm not interested in getting married."

Finnegan felt disappointed. "I see. I'm here for the same reason. Maybe we should leave now."

Esther nodded quickly. "Yeah, let's sneak out. I think they'll be back soon."

Finnegan laughed lightly. "What's the hurry? Don't you want to hang out a bit more?"

"No, it's not like that. Didn't you say we just came to put on a show? I thought you might be getting bored." Esther stood up. Seeing Finnegan still seated, she tugged at his arm. "Come on, this place is meant for blind dates, not catching up. Let's go somewhere else."

Finnegan stood up, though he was reluctant.

Since Finnegan drove them there, Esther naturally got into his car.

As Finnegan buckled his seatbelt, he raised an eyebrow. "So, where to?"

Seeing her determined, Finnegan flicked her forehead. "I'm just looking out for you."

"Yeah, yeah, you're always looking out for me..." Esther rolled her eyes. "Pearl owns this bar, so I'm safe here. If anything bad happens to me, she'll destroy them."

Finnegan felt better knowing the bar was owned by her best friend.

"Come on, let's go in. I promised you a drink," Esther said, pulling him into the bar. "I know of a few good drinks. I'll make it for you."

Still, Finnegan kept muttering. "I can't tell if we're here to catch up or just to get drunk."
