Seeing the empty office, Katrina raised an eyebrow.

Was Carlisle really not here?

Her gaze shifted to the door in the corner, which led to Carlisle's private room. She walked over quickly, and the unlocked door opened with a twist of her hand.

There was no one inside, either.

Katrina frowned. Was Carlisle really not in the office just to avoid her?

Natty had been on edge the whole time. It was only when she saw Katrina walk out of the private room that she quietly let out a sigh of relief. "Mrs. Zachman, as you can see, Mr. Zachman is really not here. Please allow me to escort you out."

Katrina's gaze lingered on Natty for a short while, and something flashed in her eyes. Suddenly, she said with a smile, "Okay. Since he is not here, I'll leave for now."

Hearing this, Natty finally relaxed completely. A smile spread across her face as she respectfully said, "This way, please, Mrs. Zachman."

Katrina didn't linger. She walked past Natty and headed for the exit.

Natty quickly followed, intending to personally escort her out. Just as she was about to say something to ease the tension, she was caught off guard when Katrina suddenly changed direction and strode briskly toward the conference room.

Natty froze, clearly not expecting Katrina to head in that direction.
