Melody shook her head. "No need."

There was an adjustment period when it came to hearing aids, and she was about to enter for a checkup, so wearing it now would only create discomfort.

Jeremy didn't pressure her.

She got out of the car with the hearing aids in hand, still somewhat dazed.

The box felt like it weighed tons, and it sat heavily on Melody's chest.

The checkup went fast. Not even half a day had passed, and all the necessary exams were completed.

Tiffany knew that Melody had dropped by for the checkup, so she made Melody visit the neurosurgery department.

She told Melody that she had been worked to the bone.

Though Melody knew that Tiffany was just exaggerating, she still couldn't manage to say no. She informed Steve Lang, the person Denvin assigned to oversee the checkups, before heading straight for the neurosurgery department.

Tiffany was anxiously waiting for her by the elevators.

"Mel, is Regallo still hiring? Take me with you. I can't stand it anymore. I'm so tired that I actually feel nauseated," she wailed.

"Is it really that bad?" Melody asked.

Seeing how she didn't believe her, Tiffany dragged her right over to the nurse's station.

From a distance, they could already see a crowd of people making a lot of commotion, seemingly enquiring about something.

"They're all here to ask about Krystal. Every one of them claims that they're sick and need to be admitted. We keep trying to explain that they need a doctor's approval before they can be admitted, but they won't listen."

Tiffany looked exasperated. "Well, it's not that they won't listen, but they just insist on making a scene. Even Harold, with that easy-going temper of his, has been so annoyed with them that he lost his temper twice."

Melody stared at the gathered crowd in confusion. This was the largest number of people she had ever seen in all her years at the neurosurgery department. However, after some thought, she soon understood.

When she had been in hot water previously, those who came here were all reporters or people with ill intent, and thus, they would generally be stopped by the security guards.

These people, who were here for Krystal, were different. They were just seeking treatment, and so the hospital had no right to throw them out.

Melody looked away, and that was when a low voice sounded from above her head.

"You're done with your checkup?" Jeremy asked.

She hummed in answer and explained, "I came here to see Tiffany."

He glanced at the time on his phone. "Let's go have lunch together at the cafeteria."

Thinking of the hearing aids and what Ophelia had said before, Melody didn't refuse.

Tiffany, who was standing to the side, kept winking at her nonstop.

Then, while Jeremy popped into the doctor's office, she took the opportunity and asked in a small voice, "You're back together? If so, I suggest not telling Felicia this. Otherwise, she'll definitely think she's a fool of a bestie. Who knows, she might even complain about you to some gossip blogger."

"It's not what you think," Melody corrected, right as Jeremy came back out of the office.

Tiffany didn't quite dare mess with him, so she slipped away immediately.

Melody followed Jeremy to the cafeteria. She was very much in a daze even after they sat down at the table.

"What are you thinking about?" Jeremy asked.
