Calvin glanced over at the other end of the couch. He couldn’t help but sigh. 

Hansel sat there, drinking one glass after another. He didn’t play cards nor joined in the billiards game. As for the women, he kept as far as possible from them. 

The other men couldn’t help but click their tongues when they saw him. 

“Looks like Hans has really sworn off women. I’m starting to feel sorry for him!” 

“Shut up, you’re being cringe! Can’t you speak properly? Hans is a true romantic. He’s a prisoner of love!‘ 

“I mean, aren’t all women the same? What can’t you buy with enough money? Why bother with her?” 

Calvin quickly interrupted when he heard the conversation taking a turn, “Alright, enough with the snide remarks. Don’t you know the consequences?” 

Some of them even seemed like they were about to mention Miranda’s name. 

A chill ran down Calvin’s spine. Her name was taboo to Hansel. The mere mention of it could send him flying into a rage. At that point, it would be a huge mess to contain. 

Meanwhile, Zach lost several games in a row. He threw down his cards and said, “This is pointless. Are you guys cheating? I’ve been sitting here this whole time and haven’t won once!” 

Calvin replied, “You just have a lack of brains and poor luck. How is that my fault?”

“Tsk! Cal, getting bold now, 

Calvin said wryly, “I’ll take that as a compliment. 

Zach snorted and dropped his cards. “I’m not playing.” 

No one dared to take his place after he left, so the game naturally ended. 

Calvin had no cards to play and no interest in drinking. He glanced at the dance floor below, where the party was heating up. Even dancing didn’t excite him at that moment. 

He slumped into a corner of the couch and pulled out his phone to scroll through his social media. 

As he scrolled, he came across Sam’s post. 

“Finally reunited? With whom?” Calvin muttered softly and clicked on the photo.

He was about to marvel at all the food when he suddenly spotted a partially visible face in the upper right corner of the photo. 

“What-” Calvin gasped sharply. 

This… Wasn’t this Miranda? 

He zoomed in to get a better look and focused on the top–right corner of the photo. Even though only her chin and lips were visible, anyone familiar with Miranda would recognize her at a glance! 

Just then, Hansel returned from the restroom. He was passing by behind Zach and casually glanced at the screen on his phone. A single look was all it took for him to freeze on the spot. 

The next second, Calvin’s hand was empty. His phone had been snatched away by Hansel. Hansel zoomed in on the photo. Unsurprisingly, he noticed Miranda’s familiar features and confirmed it was her. 

Seeing his dark expression brewing like a storm, Calvin thought, “This is really bad!” 

Zach also came over to take a look out of curiosity. “Hey, isn’t this Miranda? Is she in Sam’s social media post? This looks like the Garrison estate from the background. I heard the Garrisons recently came back from overseas. So… did Sam bring Miranda home to meet his family?” 

Hansel’s face darkened even more as soon as the words left Zach’s mouth. 

Calvin almost got a spasm from winking too rapidly at Zach, who seemed to be oblivious to his gestures. 

He kept fanning the flames as he gushed, “Wow, Sam is moving fast! When did he succeed in pursuing her? How did no one hear about it? Look at the comments; people are saying that he’s making big moves while keeping a low profile. Amazing…” 

Suddenly, Hansel grabbed his coat and headed out the door. 

Calvin called out, “Hans, the night’s just getting started. Why don’t you stay and have some fun?”
