I had just finished making my last round when I finally decided to go to my room.

As I made my way upstairs, I rushed to take off my robe. Tossing it carelessly to my king-sized bed before stripping off my boxers then kicking it to the floor.

I found myself sniffing the air when a familiar scent had suddenly invaded my nose, touching all my senses and making my wolf purr in excitement.

Ignoring the red sign upon seeing a woman's blurry figure pacing inside the shower room, I walked slowly towards the bathroom when I notice the figure disappear. The door bursted wide open, revealing a very naked Eleanor staring up wide-eyed at me.

As expected, Coby had purposely brought her to my room. Because we've known each other for years, he must have noticed my fondness for her when we were in the forest.

And, considering the fact that he's been practically begging me every single day to find a mate who could take her place as a Luna in our pack, I'm not surprised. He had done the same trick to me as many times as I can remember, when random she-wolves had mysteriously appeared right under my bedsheets time and time again.

We could say it's not any different than now, except that it was Eleanor standing naked by my bathroom door.

Her hair was dripping wet, and her small, trembling body let me know she has failed to find any towel, like how other women who Coby forced to enter my room failed before her.

I must say, this is the first time Coby every pleased me by bringing a woman in my bedroom.

The moment I saw her curvy body at my bathroom door, all my instincts were telling me to claim her right there and then, when I noticed the look of fear in her eyes that instantly made me stop.

She was scared...of me. And I don't want to act on my desire to claim her with that expression on her face.

Moments later, my own jealousy had pushed me to lean down and kiss her lips as soon as I saw them pucker up in front of me.

The feel of her luscious lips on mine was something else. It felt satisfying, fulfilling, even. I reveled in it the first second her plump lips pressed into mine. It felt surreal, but then something feels off.

My eyes closed, the desire to feel her mouth and taste her tongue for the very first time had forced me to give in, to let myself kiss her and take what’s mine. She was and has been mine for a long time, since the day I laid my eyes on her deep in that forest.

I know she’s my mate. She has to be.

Why else would the moon goddess lead me to save her in the hands of those bastards who plotted to devour her body, if we weren’t destined? I lost her years ago, when she had suddenly disappeared into thin air, as if she never existed. But now, it seemed she’s found her way back to me again.

I let out a short breath in between the kiss, tasting her divine lips when out of nowhere, a sharp slap landed directly on the side of my face.

The hard impact sent my face flying to the other direction whilst my body stumbled back. I groaned, vaguely aware of my cheek redenning from the unanticipated slap.

My wolf was shocked, anger instantly building up inside him as a low but fierce growl rumbled from my chest.

She gasped just when I snapped my eyes up to her equally shocked face, our gazes intertwined. She held her hand close to her chest, her face visibly guilty and painted with regret.

I furrowed my brows tighter.

While my wolf grunted in anger inside me, all I could feel was my heart breaking instantly at the blunt rejection.

The pain in my heart stung more than the actual pain on my swollen cheek.

Clenching my fists on both sides, I stood there like a stunned idiot as an eerie silence began to envelope the air around us.
