ELEANOR
Fear immediately slithers across my skin as I watch Alex launch at Ezekiel who had just kicked himself out of the shower with rage burning in his shimmering golden eyes.
He was not himself.
His massive black and white wolf pounced on the ground before jumping straight towards Ezekiel who glanced up instinctively at Alex in mid-air. Seeing he was just about to land, I pushed Ezekiel on his shoulders, practically shoving him out of Alex's reach. His wolf snarled before attempting to claw at Ezekiel's face.
Luckily, I managed to get him out of the way before his pointed claws even touch his skin. I jumped back, my heel crashing onto the sculpture right behind me, whimpering as the pain shot throughout my whole body in a single flash.
I gasped, watching wide-eyed as Alex's wolf crashed straight into the wall with a piercing thud. "Alex!" I shouted, but the sound of his name didn't seem to make his wolf turn nor flinch as if my voice couldn't reach him no matter how loud I screamed.
He lets out a thunderous growl that shook the earth beneath us and caused my body to tremble in utter trepidation, watching as Alex quickly recovered from the impact and snarls menacingly once again.
Bloodlust marred his handsome face as he stepped backwards only to jump into him yet again. Mouth agape, I jerked in my position, watching Ezekiel instantly shift before Alex could pounce at his face.
The next thing I know, there was thrashing, gnawing, snarling, and growling. The two large beasts wrestled madly like the animals they were, until both fell to the ground still pinning each other with their incredible strengths.
Alexander is picking a fight on another pack's territory!
Not long after, a great deal of warriors suddenly appeared and surrounded the area. A
Blood splattered across their fur, making me cover my mouth with my palm and stand dumbstruck at what was going on before me. Elijah immediately sprung to action. Shifting into his massive brown wolf, he leapt and forced himself in between them.
Elijah whirls around, facing Alex when I saw his eyes glow as if they were communicating through mind link. Ezekiel growls lowly behind him, bracing himself and lowering his body to the ground. Ready to pounce at any moment.
From the corner of my eye, I saw another wolf growling just behind him. It was a huge, brown wolf. I took one look at her striking green eyes and knew instantly it was Elijah. On his left was a magnificent gray wolf with sparkling gray eyes, reminding me of Linda, while on his left was Veronyka with his arms crossed in front of her, glaring daggers at me. I squinted, holding her gaze feeling guilty all of a sudden.
I feel my heart thumping stronger and louder against my chest. Linda's words of warning comes flooding back into my mind like an aftermath of a heavy storm.
I hear Ezekiel let out a fierce growl that snatched my attention away from the magnificent gray wolf who looked much like Linda. His back arched into a defensive stance, pinning his eyes directly at Alex who exuded a dominant aura about them.
Elijah's wolf whimpers as though telling Alex to calm down.
Slowly, the extreme rage burning in his eyes disappeared whilst Elijah stood firm as a rock in between them. Soon, I notice his breathing become more relaxed, and he closes his eyes momentarily. After a time, he opened them before glancing over to me.
My body stiffened under his intense gaze, but I knew I had to act unaffected. If I don't, I'll never be able to leave his side.
Seeing how he just attacked another wolf in front of me only hardened my resolve and forced me to finalize my decision.
My decision to truly set him free.
Ares whimpered at the thought.
'Are you saying...'
'Yes, Ares.' I whispered back.
She gasps and I can feel her retreat slowly to the shadows of my mind. Her whimpers heard subtly from the distance.
I sigh, lifting up my chin. Only to see Alex standing right in front of me. Looking at me straight in the eye.
I could see the look of pain and betrayal flaming through his cerulean blue eyes as he stared down at my appearance.
