The client was an oriental-faced woman who had an oddly warm. I shook her hand warmly, unable to hold back a smile as well.

"Nice to meet you." I said to her. Her smile seemed to grow at my words.

"Come this way." I added.

We began making our way towards the apartment. When we got there, I was hit with the sight of a placard.

The apartment was off-limits to strangers. We still made our way closer to the house. It looked pretty good but it would have been nice if we were able to get a closer look at the place.

"Excuse me," We turned to see a security guard making his way towards us.

He had a nasty sneer on his face as he watched us. "Can’t you read? It’s restricted for strangers."

"Yes, I know that," I started, "But I’m taking someone who’s ready to buy a house to go in so she can get a good look of it."

"And that’s my problem how?" He scoffed.

I narrowed my eyes, feeling the anger simmering beneath my skin. He was unnecessarily rude and it was getting on my nerves. He didn’t look one bit fazed by his attitude and actually seemed to enjoy messing with us.

His eyes flickered to the dress I was wearing. I didn’t like the way he seemed to be examining me from head to toe.

"You must be a poor student, right?" He chuckled. "Out of the part time job you’re doing at that small company that nobody’s heard from. How the hell do you expect me to entrust such a luxurious apartment to a small company like yours to sell it? For all I knew, you might even try to steal something."

My hands tightened into fists by my side. I wanted nothing more than to give the guard a piece of my mind, preferably my fist in his face.

Lillian who had been silent this whole time finally stepped up, and she looked mad. "What the hell is your problem? Can’t you see she’s an agent? I want to buy this house and she just wants to show me what I’d be paying for with my money. Are you too dumb to see that?"

I stepped forward, putting a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. She turned to me, her shoulders sagging just a bit. I sent her a small smile before turning to the guard again, my smile dropping completely.

"First of all," I started, my voice clear and organized. "My company has entered into partnership with the construction company behind the apartments."

Lillian’s cheeks looked warm with what must have been. She looked right about ready to just leave.

"Let’s go. I’m done with this." I didn’t like how her voice sounded.

My gaze went back to the security guard who looked a tad bit too satisfied with what he’d done. I was about to step forward again when I saw a familiar figure approaching from a distance.

My eyes widened in realization. That was one of Merhold’s men.

As he approached us, I recognized the man immediately. That was Tom—one of Merhold’s men and his beta.

His face was stoic as he stopped before us. His gaze lingered on us for a bit before he turned to the security guard.

"What the hell is going on here?" He asked, his voice seemingly booming through the room.

The security guard hastily stepped out, bowing before Tom before pointing at us. "These women came here and started disrupting everything. I tried telling them that they place was restricted to strangers but they’ve been trying to force their way in. They were being so mean to me when I tried to explain how things were to them."
