On instinct, I leaned closer to Froste and felt my eyes widen.

The scent had reappeared.

"Giselle?" Froste sounded confused.

I took in a deep breath, the scent seeming even stronger. I looked up to see Froste's eyes set on me. His expression had turned somewhat unnatural and he no longer had that calm demeanour that he'd put on.

"Giselle? Is something wrong?" Cyrus sounded confused.

Froste looked like he was trying his best to stay as calm as possible. Despite this, I couldn't miss how his hand seemed to tremble ever so slightly.

Haelor cursed under his breath and made his way closer to me. Without thinking, he pulled me aside, his eyes holding a questioning look.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"There's this scent…" I began.

He looked surprised. "Scent?"

I nodded. "It's a very pleasant one, and I just got a whiff of it."

Cyrus looked a bit puzzled at my words and turned to Froste. Froste himself looked surprised by what I was saying.

Haelor's gaze lingered on him for a while before he turned back to me. "Whose scent was it?"

I took in a deep breath, feeling my conviction strengthened even more. I knew there was no doubt I was wrong about it.

"It's Froste's."

Haelor's expression immediately soured upon hearing my comment on Froste's scent. I didn't need a soothsayer to help me read the look he had on his face.

He looked miffed.

"You could catch his scent so easily." Arthur noted, a look of eagerness in his eyes.

"Yeah," I glanced back at Froste. "It just hit me and before I knew it, I could already pinpoint it as his. It smells…nice."

"This is some promising news." Arthur stroke his beard. "You're finally getting it back."

Froste cleared his throat, turning his head to the side. Was that a blush on his cheeks?

I turned to Haelor who still had a hard look on his face. "Is that what's happening?"

"Your sense of smell is coming back too. I think that's some really promising news." Froste added.

Cyrus nodded his head. "It does sound pleasing to hear that."

He paused, eyes flickering back to Haelor ever so slightly. There was a warning glint in the general's eyes as he glared at Froste, a hardened look on his face.

"Oh brother," Cyrus slapped a hand on his face.

Froste turned back to me. "It must mean we're familiar."

My eyes remained fixed on him as I wondered what he probably wanted me to concoct. After a while, I let out a sigh.

Froste was either really smart, or I'd overestimated him.

"Of course we're familiar," I said blandly. "We lived together for three years back then."

Froste swallowed, the hint of an unreadable look in his eyes. "Right. We were together those years."

"In any case," Cyrus interjected. "I believe we have to act fast and we have to do it now. The time is ticking against us and making our move would be the next best thing."

"You're right about that." Haelor nodded.

Cyrus' gaze landed on me. "I've gotten in touch with Merhold about the latest findings. He's on it as we speak."

I nodded my head as I took his words in. All hands were on deck to find a solution to this problem and I wanted to see it to the end.
