We eventually reached the company without wasting any time. Haelor helped me with the door and stood by my side as we walked into the company building.

I noticed all the things that had broken during Caroline’s drama had already been fixed. Just the memory of what happened was enough to bring a headache. I pushed it aside and tried to focus on the task ahead.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at us. I ignored their watching eyes and focused on what I had to do. I would get this problem fixed as quickly as possible and leave this place. My loved ones were waiting for me.

I marched straight towards the office of the company’s CEO who just happened to be Froste’s sister, Erin.

As soon as she saw me, her face twisted into that of anger. I wondered if I would ever catch a break from Froste’s family members.

Fortunately, his mother was also there. As soon as she saw me, her face twisted into a sneer and she marched straight towards me.

“I’m surprised you even decided to show your dirty face here.” The woman yelled, pointing a finger at me.

“You,” Erin came up to me as well. “I can’t believe you mistreated my mother so much. How dare you? Just who do you think you are to do that?”

“I don’t have time for this.” I folded my arms. “I came here for something else. There’s no need for all this drama.”

“Bitches like you should stay quiet when people of substance are talking.” Erin glared at me.

Froste’s mother’s eyes landed on the jewelry set I was wearing. Her eyes were filled with hatred as she looked into my eyes.

“So you spent all my family’s money on this jewelry? You truly are an ungrateful woman. I can’t believe I ever considered you my daughter-in-law.”

Erin stepped closer to me, a look of anger on her face. “You’re nothing but a vile, money grubbing woman.”

I could feel the anger boiling beneath my skin. Then it hit me. Erin still had no idea that Froste and I weren’t mates anymore. She didn’t know I’d broken off the mate relationship.

Erin took my silence as an inability to defend myself. “I should have known this was who you really are. Why are you going out shopping during working hours? Shouldn’t you be working? Get your lazy ass back to work.”

It was then her eyes landed on Haelor. Her eyes widened into the size of bulbs and her cheeks warmed at the sight. It was no surprise. Where most men were mediocre, Haelor had the face of Adonis himself. No doubt, Erin had fallen in love with him already.

“Who is he?” She stepped closer to Haelor. “Is he the company’s new client?”

Erin turned back to Giselle, a look of irritation in her eyes. “Instead of standing here like a buffoon, why not get something to entertain him?”

“Are you seriously siding with this bitch?” Erin scoffed angrily.

Froste closed the distance between them in a flash. There was a scary look in his eyes that made Erin start to tremble.

“Don’t you dare call her that again? Understood?”

She didn’t reply but it was obvious she got the memo. Froste would not stand for any ill-talk about me.

I honestly didn’t care much for what they were saying. I only had one thing in mind as I stared at him.

The wealth I’d worked hard to create in this pack. Everything else could go to hell for all I knew.

I would not leave here until I took every single thing I’d put my blood and sweat to earn.

Everything.
