Ace's pov

The way she sauntered was mesmerizing and for a second I could only see Ryn and no one else. Her eyes suddenly widened in fear before her lips parted to shout something. But I was so focused on her beauty that it took a while for me to her what she had yelled.

"Everyone get down!" She yelled as she dove underneath a table, the food she was bringing long forgotten as she looked at me panicked.

The sound of the glass shattering finally brought me out of my still state. I quickly understood what was happening as the deafening sound of bullets hitting everything could be heard.

There were now loud screams of frightened people as they got down on the floor as a way from not getting shot. I moved into action as I turned the table around as a barrier to block the bullets that seemed to be aiming for me.

Gustin made a gurgling sound and I swiftly turned my head towards him silently cursing that I had forgotten he was there. The blood soaking up his shirt made me know that he had been shot and by the amount of blood he was losing he wouldn't make it.

I shift towards him, docking down when a bullet nearly missed my head when it pierced through the wooden table. I put pressure on the wound and looked at him hopeless. He slowly opens his mouth but spits out blood.

"Th-e ship-" Was his last words as his eyes became dull as the life slowly faded away. I let out a curse as I stared at his dead body. I moved away from him and took my gun out. I slowly laid down on the floor shifting in a way as to not get shot.

"Ryn!" I yelled searching for her. God I hope she was alright.

"Ace!" She yelled back. I peeped my head to see that she was holding onto a blonde waitress who was bleeding out severely. She looked at me in dread and looked around for something.

I groaned as I pushed my body on all fours and quickly crawled towards her. She was not armed and at that moment all I wanted to do was protect her even if I lost my life doing so.

A bullet passed close to my ears making it ring. I let out a curse as one pierced through my arm. It wasn't fatal but it stung like a bitch. Groaning I finally rolled towards her and smirked when she glared.

"You're hurt!" She yelled and reaches out to touch my injured arm. I smiled at the clear concerned look she held as she studied my arm.

"It's nothing, it barely hurts." I offered. I let out a grunt when she applies pressure on the injury.

"Doesn't hurt my ass." She snorts. I chuckle and looked around. Some people were injured but it didn't look fatal.

We needed to get them somewhere safe before whoever is trying to murder us comes in. And judging by how the bullets were getting more forceful they were not far from here.

"We need to get them to safety Ryn." I said as I cocked my gun ready to shoot whoever enters.
