Badboy Ace novel Chapter 26

Ryn's pov

"It's not your damn business cop!" Ace sneers.

"Then I'll make it my damn business." Nate argues back, already trying to push pass me to get to Ace. I push both away from each other, glaring meaningfully at them both.

"Both of you need to stop this shit right now, we have more pressing matters at the moment." I inform them.

Nate sighs and looks at me. "Why didn't you tell me about you and Ace?" He asked hurt.

I avoided looking at his eyes, feeling guilty that I had kept this huge secret away from him. "I was protecting you Nate."

"What, is little Nate mad that his girlfriend kept a secret from him?" Ace taunts. I turn towards him and strutted to him, hold his ears and pinched it as I made him bend down. He hisses when I pulled at it roughly to bring it to my mouth.

"Listen here, we need all the help we can get right now and I so happen to trust Nate with my life. So you either let him in on the plan or get the fuck out of my house!" I hissed loud enough so that Nate would hear.

I let go of his ears and watch him bring his hands to touch it. He cringes when he touches the now prominent red spot. I smirked in satisfaction.

He glares and nods at me in a way to tell me that I could tell Nate about our plans. Which I didn't have a clue what it was, Robert was always one step ahead of us, right now it looked impossible to take him down.

I turn to Nate. "Robert isn't Ace's real dad, he's his uncle, in fact Robert had a twin brother that he had killed, who's Ace's biological father." I inform Nate. I had to give him that information to let him know why Ace had turned against Robert. It was the only way he could trust Ace.

Ace stayed mute, still glaring at Nate in hatred. Who looked shocked at the information? He shift his eyes away from me and settles it on Ace who had a grim look. If looks could kill Nate would've been six feet under by now.

"Looks like Ace has daddy issues huh?" Nate taunts.

I glare at him causing him to gulp and put his hands up in surrender. "I know both of you despise each other but let's put our differences aside so we could take down Robert once and for all." I argue scowling at them. If I stay beside those two any longer I'd get a massive migraine.

Nate groans then sighs in defeat. "Fine, how can I help? I'm only doing this for you Ryn."

A smile stretches onto my lips. "I know."

"God I want to just puke." Ace says in disgust but we ignore him.

"Nate since I'm currently suspended I'd want you to be my eyes and ears in the department. Anything you hear and Robert's involved I'd want you to inform me about it." I explain to him.

He nods in understanding and looks at Ace. "Are you sure we can trust that guy?" He asked.

"I'm right here asshole!" Ace spits.

"The only asshole I see here is you!" Nate responds equally agitated.
