Ryn's pov

And I was right, we did reach before twenty minutes. But the sight of my house makes my blood run cold as I begin to think of the worst scenarios at the vision. Ace didn't even have time to park properly before I removed the seat belt and got down from the jeep.

I opened the gate in a rush and halted before the house. The windows were shattered both upstairs and where I stayed. I let my feet take me as I rushed upstairs to Marlie's, taking two steps at a time. "Marlie, Paul!" I yelled in angst.

I froze when the once wooden front door was now on the floor in splinters. It looked like bullets had pierced it so much that it just couldn't hold up any longer.

I take a cautious step ahead before taking my gun aiming it forward. My boots made a clunking sound when I stepped on the fallen door. "Marlie, Paul are you in here?" I called out panicking internally when I didn't get a response.

Ace chooses that moment to rush to me and stops beside me out of breath. "What the fuck happened here, where's Marlie and Paul?" He questions in dread, pulls out his gun and looks back at the road in caution.

I studied the floor and noticed tiny drops of blood everywhere. My stomach churn in unease at the sight. I motion my head to the blood showing Ace, who's eyes widen in alarm. I lift up my index finger and placed it on my lips to notify him to be quiet.

"Watch my back." I whispered to him in a hushed tone and stepped further into the house. Something wasn't right and I could feel it.

Ace nods and turns his back to face me as he walks backward, gun aiming forward in case of any intruder. Inside was a complete mess, broken vases, plates and ornaments. It looked like someone had a struggle with the way the chairs were flipped.

I walked further in, not wanting to think the worse had happened to the closest people I thought of as grandparents. But as I turned the corner to enter the dining room, I had completely turned to a statue as I felt something heavy weighing on my chest.

My hands trembled as my palms began to sweat. A cold chill ran down my spine as I looked at Marlie's and Paul's lifeless bodies on the floor. Both were clutched to each other making me know that they had spent their final breaths in each other's arms.

My mouth opened but nothing came out as the gun I was holding dropped on the floor with a clunk. At the sound I could feel Ace turn around to see what had made me so horror-stricken. I could hear him let out a curse but I wasn't as sure as I now became numb to the core.
