Ryn's pov

"What's wrong?" Becca's panicked voice rang through the other end. I come closer to Ace and hold his hands in my own, giving it a firm squeeze. I didn't want to panic because it would only make things worse, something I didn't want happening.

"We were ambushed by some of the members of the dragon's gang. Ace ended up getting shot and he looks like he's in bad condition." I spoke softly as I stared at his face. In all my life that I've been after him, never have I seen him in this condition and I don't like it one bit.

I could distinctly hear her harsh breath on the other end. "Is he breathing steadily? Where exactly are y'all?" She asked in agitation.

I looked around trying to look for something familiar. We must've ended up in this unknown territory when we were trying to get away from the gang members." I don't exactly know where we are but I saw a Riverside sign coming here, we are not too far from it. Ace is breathing steadily, he's just knocked out." I answered as I chewed my lips looking at him.

He looked so peaceful now, like he had no problems in the world which was an understatement for who he was. His eyelids twitch and he lets out a pained gasp. "Ryn-" He mumbles softly with his eyes still shut.

I bring my hands to his and give it a firm squeeze. "I'm here baby." I spoke softly completely forgetting that I was on the phone with Becca.

"Are you hurt?" He questions lowly. I could detect the alarm in his voice. I sighed. Was he seriously checking my well-being when he was the one injured? My heart warmed at the thought.

"I'm not the one who is hurt baby, you are. I'm fine, I'm on the phone with Becca." I whispered and brought my lips to give him a chaste kiss.

He smiles and even with his eyes closed and face ashen from the loss of blood he was still the most handsome man I have ever seen. And he was all mine. "I'm not injured bellissima, I'm just a bit tired." He mumbles.

"Is he speaking to you right now? I think I know where you guys are." Becca's voice floats through the other side.

At hearing this I left his side to rush to the drivers side. If she knows where we are she can guide us to somewhere safe, at least for the time being. "Yes he is speaking now, he looks like he is slowly regaining his consciousness. Can you tell me where to go to get help, I can't bring him to a hospital." I rushed as I strapped myself in and started the jeep.
