Fearing that the awkwardness would fill the air again, Mrs. Clements chimed in. She actually had the intention to save Alicia from that situation as well. At the same time, her tone and attitude were also telling Danica that she was an outsider.

To be honest, Miranda was actually uncertain about Danica's preferences. After all, she hadn't seen Danica for so long. She didn't really remember anymore. Moreover, she was quite different at present.

"We still have some sea cucumber and celery left. How about I prepare other fillings using them?"

Alicia didn't fancy sea cucumber but it was still considered a luxury food.

"Okay then! She is a guest after all! It's crucial to treat our guests well. I'll reduce the portion of the shrimps then. You watch out for the portion too, Miranda," Alicia said.

Even though they were talking, it didn't seem to affect their efficiency at all.

Half an hour later, all the dishes were done. They really treated Danica as a guest. They also cooked some vegetables aside from the dumplings.

As Frederick and Danica were around, Miranda didn't eat with them. The four of them sat down and even opened a red wine for this occasion.
