"Relax! It's not office hours yet! Just let him wait!" Graham must be very anxious that he had to come to the office, Frederick thought.

Lowering his gaze, Frederick continued rubbing his face against Alicia's neck.

She blushed as she tried to stop him. "Hey, Frederick, stop!"

How would the others who were waiting outside think of them? They had seen what the two were doing! Alicia was feeling anxious.

"Hubby, are you doing business with the Crouch Family?"

Alicia felt disgusted when she thought of Lindsay Crouch. Why must it be the Crouch family? Ugh! She pouted as she thought of it.

"Yeah, what's wrong? Are you unhappy about it?"

Even though Alicia was not pleased with it, she was still being reasonable. In the end, she shook her head.

"I'm just a little upset! It's okay if you are making money from it, but if he is making money from you too, that's just so annoying! However, I understand that you should never mix up business with personal feelings. I am okay with it!"

As Alicia fixed Frederick's collar, she forced a smile onto her face. "I'll try my best to deal with it and won't cause you any trouble!"

Frederick pinched her face as he replied, "That's my girl! But, I don't think this collaboration is still going on because he has violated the contract. There won't be a next time anymore."

Alicia's eyes instantly brightened up but then she felt worried. "Won't it affect you? What a rubbish family!"

The Crouch family had not only screwed her over but also Frederick. She felt a little sorry for him.

Frederick immediately knew what was on her mind when he saw the emotions written on her face. He then pinched her face harder.

"Don't worry! He's going to pay for it!"

Immediately, Alicia cheered up. Suddenly, there came a knock with a shout, "Mr. Clements—"

Alicia recognized this voice -it was Chet's.

She jumped down from Frederick's lap and glanced at the door worriedly. "Hubby, what should we do?"

Would she be humiliated once again?

"Heh."

Frederick smiled and glanced at another door inside the room, signaling for her to enter.

Alicia immediately turned around and rushed to enter. With a slam, the door closed. Only then, Frederick answered the door calmly.

"Come in!"

The men outside entered the room and they roughly knew what had happened in the room moments ago. They lowered their head, trying to avoid eye contact and started to talk about work. On the other hand, Frederick acted like nothing had happened and quickly organized the documents handed to him.

In the room, Alicia was so embarrassed that her brain was buzzing. Her face was flushed red.

She quietly listened to what was happening outside while holding her bag in her arm. She was waiting for the guys outside to leave so that she could escape as soon as possible.

Fortunately, the people outside stayed for less than 10 minutes. She made sure that there was no one out there anymore before she tiptoed out.

Frederick was signing a few documents and he noticed Alicia from the corner of his eyes.

Frederick lowered down his pen and spoke, "You are not bothering me. There's no need to act like that."

She was so sensible. People around her always found that she was considerate of others.

"Hubby, since you are so busy, I don't want to bother you anymore! It was so embarrassing earlier on, it's too awkward for me to stay here any longer! I should go to work too!"

She had to go back and get her car, and she also had to head to the motel to visit Nicholas. She couldn't stay here for too long.

Biting her lower lip softly, she asked with her hands covering her face, "Hubby, can you stop for a while... and send me out please?"

However, she was informed that Nicholas had checked out.

"What? When did this happen?" Where did he go? Why had he left without letting her know?

As Alicia asked the receptionist, she checked her phone. There were no calls or messages from an unknown number.

"He returned at midnight and checked out at dawn!" came the reply.

Alicia frowned in confusion and didn't press on. "Alright, thank you!"

She left the motel and felt a little bit down. Why did Nicholas leave again? What was he doing outside the previous night? Why did he leave after returning for a short while? Could it be that he caused some trouble again and decided to run away?

However, Alicia didn't think that he was such a person! He was someone who had sacrificed his life to protect his sister's life even when he was poor. How bad could a person like that be? Maybe he was just afraid of dragging her down with him.

Alicia sighed in resignation. It was fine if she couldn't contact him as long as he was safe!

Without thinking much, she went to work.

Alicia had been met with many pleasant surprises recently. She had no more health problems; her misunderstanding with Frederick had been solved; she met Nicholas, and she received 300,000 dollars out of the blue. That day, she felt extremely delighted and her efficiency at work was superb.

When it was approaching the time to get off work, Alicia roughly calculated her expenses and felt a little relieved.

At least, her father's treatment wouldn't be delayed anymore.

However, she felt slightly worried about the 80 thousand dollars that she had spent on her brother. There were constant unforeseen circumstances in life but no matter what, one had to live off of money. Even if one's life was easy at the moment, one still couldn't slack off.
