Frederick had avoided her and rejected her several times already. He pursed his lips tightly as he looked at her hand on his arm and heard her words.

"Who gave you the permission to get out of bed? What are you doing out here?"

When Frederick saw that she was dressed in only a thin hospital gown, he quickly took off his suit jacket and draped it around her shoulders. He was afraid that she would catch a cold, which would affect her wound.

At this moment, she could not tell him that she came out to look for the doctor to ask about her condition, nor could she say that she needed to go to the bathroom. So, she took a bite of her apple and came up with another excuse.

"I'm hungry..."

Alicia looked past his shoulder and reached out to place her hand on his waist as she said, "I just came out to see whether you're done talking. Can we go out and have lunch?" Frederick did not explain anything even though he saw her look at Danica. He just said, "Sure. Why don't we head back to the room so that you can change out of the hospital gown?"

He wrapped one arm around her and held her arm with the other as he led her back to her ward.

Behind him, Danica's eyes were full of tears and her face was full of disbelief. He was at the hospital because of Alicia?
