Lindsay said casually while cleaning up the empty plates.

"Who did you hear it from? Is it true?"

It was obvious that the east side was developing faster than the west side of Casterwich City throughout these years, and the south side was more powerful than the north side. Wasn't it too risky to invest so much in it? Could it be some kind of scheme?

"Last time when I was out for a meal, I overheard a man talking about it on the phone. I don't think it's fake! I think he was Mr. Johnson from the Linke Real Estate Group! He was trying to find out more about the bidders! I even asked him more about it. It will be happening quite soon, probably starting officially next month or so! The project proposal should be under examination now, I think it's fine to invest! If two major companies are interested in this project, I bet it shouldn't be any problem, that's why I'm just asking you in case you're interested! I heard that it requires a few billion! I even saw Frederick having a meal with the head of the bank that day, though I'm not sure whether they were meeting because of this..."

Lindsay smiled as she revealed most of the information she had.

"Jeremy, are there any major projects in your company recently? You can really consider this! Even if you're not interested, I think it's not a bad idea to stir things up for Frederick! Didn't you say that he might be involved in the issue last time? He was the one who made you lose so much... and now you're so busy because of him! You've even lost some weight!"

Lindsay stopped talking as she saw that he was deep in his thoughts.

"The soup is already cold, hurry up and drink it! I'm just thinking out loud, you don't have to take it to heart! I've been a bit bored lately and have been reading too many novels; my imagination went a bit wild! I'll do some cleaning now!"

Lindsay got up and gave him some space to consider. She believed that no matter what he decided, he wouldn't opt to let Frederick have a good time!

It was another beautiful day.

Alicia tidied up her things as the bell signaling the end of work rang. She opened her drawer and took out some snacks. She developed this habit at Soaver international. As there weren't any snacks in the office, she kept some in her drawer.

She moved around to relax her muscles and looked at the calendar notes. Alicia squinted slightly while eating some almonds. Her gaze suddenly fell on a brand new document courier envelope. Alicia took it and saw that it was confidentially sealed, however, there was no postage bill on it. Only a printed note was attached to it. Her name was on it.

"Who sent this? Why is it packed so mysteriously?"

She opened it since she was bored. The envelope contained only a piece of paper with some words printed on it.

"We have drugged your father. If you want to save him, bring Soaver International's A3 west city project proposal to us in exchange for the antidote! You have seven days and you will be ignored after that! If you don't believe us, go and check your father's left arm, and you'll find that there's already a dark black line on it. I will contact you again soon. Burn this letter after reading it. If you leak this information out, your father will die immediately! Guess who will the next one be? Careful, we have spies around you!"

Who the heck was this from? Who gave her this?

Alicia couldn't believe her eyes. She looked at it over and over again. Her hands started to tremble slightly. She quickly rolled up the letter but she didn't dare to throw it away. She looked at the envelope a few times.

It was a normal document courier envelope. There was nothing else on it besides a tag from the supermarket! Her name was printed on it, and it was obvious that the person who sent this was cautious not to be found out!
