She went up to the counter and made sure that Frederick wasn't back yet. After waiting for a moment, she told herself that he must've been busy and didn't want to hurry him. After looking at the time, Alicia bent down again and left her suitcase at the counter. She was so hungry to the point that she couldn't stand it anymore, so she left for her dinner.

After her stroll, it was soon past 9:30 p.m., and he should be back soon, so she returned to the hotel. She took her suitcase and asked,

"Excuse me, sir, is the man in room A808 back yet?"

"He just came back! We haven't notified him just yet. Let's give him a surprise! Miss and Mr. Clements seem like a really perfect match..."

"Thank you!"

She nodded with a smile, and the pace of Alicia's movements couldn't help but speed up.

On the way up in the elevator, she did a quick touch-up of herself in front of the mirror, and then trotted along the way.

At this moment, Frederick received the contract in his room and handed it to a tall, young man with wavy hair who was on the sofa.

"President Pierce, I'm sorry for bothering you at this hour. This contract wasn't that important anyways. The main reason I invited you over today was because I've stored a bottle of 1787 Lafite red wine in the hotel. I heard that you have a special affection for Lafite, and I knew you'd admire it..."

As he stood straight, the man was obviously a little excited.

"It's from 1787? Was it from President Thomas Jefferson's collection that was auctioned off? I heard that he released it at a price of a hundred and fifty thousand US dollars in 1985? And it's apparently in your hands?" The man, Shelton Pierce, asked.

He took two wine glasses and placed them on the table. Frederick smiled feebly. It was then that the doorbell rang.

"I'll go take a look!"

Frederick thought it was the waiter who came with the wine, so he opened the door without any

hesitation.

When their eyes met, he was utterly surprised. Alicia raised her hand and gave him a smile. "Hubby, I'm here to check up on you!"

As soon as she said that, she wanted to enter the room.

With his sudden reflexes, he abruptly came out and closed the door. "Why are you here? Who told you to come?"

The sharp tone of his was as if he threw a wet blanket over her. Her expression darkened. It didn't turn out like how she had expected it, especially when she saw him obstructing the door. She was happy and surprised at first, but now, her heart was cold, and her gaze towards him became a little dull.

Right then, a man's voice was heard from the room. "Mr. Clements?"

In a snap, an anxious Frederick had pushed her. "Go! Hide in the bathroom! I won't be seeing you yet! Don't come out! Go now!"

As soon as he drove her away, Alicia's mind was in a daze, but her intuition told her that something was wrong, so she followed the direction he pointed in and ran towards it.

Frederick turned around and was about to return when he found that the door had been closed. He immediately stood at the door and turned to the other side, blocking the direction of Alicia's departure. Out of the corner of his eyes, he noticed that she was no longer to be seen, therefore he was slightly relieved. At this time, the door of the room had opened.

Everyone knew that he was ill in that sense, but they also heard that there was no effective treatment for him! However, he was bald and sallow at such a young age, so they figured that his kidneys were seriously injured!

Therefore, all men and women avoided him unless they needed his help. No one was willing to be close to him in private!

Frederick wanted it to be over as soon as possible, and because he was in Lesterdam City, it was just an important middle segment. He didn't look for any other ways around it. As long as he was able to cope with it, then Shelton would no longer be needed in the future!
