“Alright, I trust you, my dear,” Charlotte replied with a soft yawn. “You’ve had a long day. Go get some rest. I’m feeling a bit tired myself.”

As Suzy stepped out of Charlotte’s room, she paused by the door after closing it, lingering in silence. Her expression was unreadable, leaving no clue as to what was running through her mind.
The night deepened.
In the early days of winter, the temperature difference between day and night was already stark. Fresh from a shower, Suzy stood on the balcony in a thin robe, her damp hair still clinging to her shoulders. The chill in the air wasn’t what truly made her feel cold.
