"Do you mean it?"

"What would I gain making a joke out of that? Does that even make any sense."

There was a weird silence which traversed the nook and crannies of the sitting room where all the girls were gathered. The nine girls.

They all wore long faces. It was obvious that there was something going on. And not one of them was willing to speak. Not yet.

Funny enough, they weren't even looking one another in the eyes. It was as though each of them was invested in his own thoughts and wouldn't be denied of the flow.

The only sound heard was the whirring of a bot which purified the air. The scent was beautiful and heart-winning.

Tendzel was the first to bring up the mood.

"Tell me about it. Damien dating the manager of the hotel? Nah, it's a lie. It can never be possible. It doesn't even make any sense. I mean is that how classless she is?"

"No, that isn't even the main deal here. The major thing that's bothering me is how... how did he talk to her? It's not even up to a month since we arrived Vegas. When did he meet with her? How did he meet with her? Did they meet outside Boldyville? I mean there are a million questions to ask."

"And to think that he was seen in Boldyville. Perhaps Everlyn is seeing things again. She has always been crazy about him. Perhaps she's only seeing what she wants to. That's the only meaning I can read to this."

There was another wave of silence. It was very obvious that the girls were struggling so hard amongst themselves to agree on the same fact. Even though some of them had other ideas.

"Let's say that Eveltn was speaking based on her fantasies, how about Ayisha. We all know that she is one of the most practical of us all. She couldn't had been trying to lead Evelyn on. She always knows where to put the stop."

Mira came on. All attention went to Ayisha. Mira felt left out for a reason. She was the one who had spoken but she wasn't getting the attention she had envisaged.

"Ayisha. Is it really true? Did the two of you see Damien? I mean, does Damien really have something to do with the manager of the company?"

Ayisha arched her head to the direction of the person who had spoken, Laurette. She didn't look like she wanted to answer the question. But at the same time, she realised that she couldn't ignore the fat gazes of the girls. If they had their ways, they could had dug the answers out of her face.

"What is the point of telling you? What is the point of answering your questions? Huh? So that you can keep dragging it because you are so jobless that you don't know what else to with your lives?"

The curious gazes of the lot suddenly tuned into glares. Of course none of the girls was expecting her to snap at them so ruthlessly. None of then saw it coming. It was more like a stray bullet.

"It seems like majority of y'all already have a role for Damien in your minds. Its quite obvious why he treats majority of you as trash. Its obvious why he snaps at you whenever he gets the chance. Because you never thought of him in a good light. Y'all are way too scared to see him become a big deal. Bunch of fucking cowards."

She got on her feet and made to leave, walking away from them. Point in time, Tendzel jumped on her feet.
