Before I could speak, the Pack Elders snarled their judgment. 

“A crippled wolf who can’t even shift anymore dares to cause trouble? You think your former status 

as the Luna heir still matters?” 

“Who else but our son would accept such a broken mate?” 

“Leave her. This disability is her fate’s justice. Get Alexandra to the healer before her wounds 

worsen.” 

My claws dug into my palms as fresh blood soaked through my bandages. Ethan carried Alexandra, 

holding Rose’s hand, as they left the pack house. 

Five years of mate bonds shattered in that moment. 

I dragged myself back into the wheelchair, purchasing a ticket for the night of the Moonbinding ceremony. I retreated to a neutral territory hotel. 

That night, Ethan sent a message: “Alexandra needs to take your place in the ceremony. The apology 

was just for show–pack politics, nothing more. The Elders spoke without thinking. After the binding, I’ll make them apologize. I have a surprise waiting for you on the ceremony night. You’ll love it.” 

But I knew the truth. This performance wasn’t for Alexandra. It was for me. He’d maintained this loving facade for five years. Now it was time to end it. 

I stayed away from pack lands for two days. Ethan remained absent too, Orchestrating every detail 

of the ceremony. 

The morning of the Moonbinding, I called him. He was too busy instructing his Beta to notice. 

“Alpha, are you certain about transferring half the territory rights to Alexandra? She’s not 

pack–born. It’s risky.” 

“Do it. Half is compensation I promised her. The other half goes to Rose.” 

“I’ll handle the ceremony guests personally. Watch for the Luna’s former pack.” 

Finally remembering my call, Ethan spoke: “Sarah? Sorry for the wait. The ceremony begins soon. I’ll return to you right after. Don’t be upset.”
