LILY...

I stared up at him. His eyes were on those men. At this point, I am not sure whether to trust a man or not. Because in my life, men suck.

"Come on, take her," Leo said again, pushing me a little forward. He was holding my hand now, so even if I wanted to run, I couldn't!

"Leo! What are you doing!?" I hissed at him, trying to withdraw my hands from him. However, he ignored my words, staring at those three men.

"That's what we're talking about." The blonde said and stepped forward. My heart dropped. Could my day be any worse than this? Struggling to remove his tight grip and kept failing. Tears of shame rolled down my cheeks.

"Ple-ease, Leo..." I pleaded, but his eyes were coldly stayed on the man who almost touched me. Just when he was about to touch me, I was jerked back to Leo's hard chest and felt his one hand holding me tightly and at the same time a groan pierced through the air, freezing me there.

For a second, the world seemed to stop before angry shouts came our way. Slowly turning back, I saw the blonde on the ground, holding his stomach tightly.

The other two brought out their knives and I gasped. "We should run," I whispered but Leo only snorted before carefully pushing me back. "Just stay here." He muttered.

I wanted to stop him, yet he was faster and fought them. His skill was remarkable! Not only me but those men also were caught off guard and backed away in a minute.

Suddenly, I saw the blonde guy stand up crawling. He brought out his knife and Leo was busy with the other two. He is... No!

"Leo!" I yelped and in a second Leo dodged his attack but couldn't fully and the sharp knife scratched his arm. I don't know what got into me, I only rushed over, picked up my bag and hit the blonde, startling him as Leo got his second to recover and beat the man.

Three of them ran away somehow and I immediately watched his hand, blood dripping under his sleeve. "Oh, God! Let's get you to the doctor First!" I urged and dragged him with me.

"Thanks..." I muttered my gratitude on our way back home in the cab. His wound was not deep and dressed easily. Thank God for that. Now, returning home. I hailed a cab and did not want the repetition of the same incident.

"Heh?" His brow raised with a sneer, "Now you say?"

I know he was implying my doubts before. How I misunderstood him. But, was that my fault? How does he want me to respond in that situation? Anyone would have misjudged his deed.

However, for the sake of gratitude, I did not say anything and endured his mockery, which he didn't continue anymore.

"Are your belongings fine?" He asked, eyeing my backpack. And suddenly it hit me. The check! I almost tore my bag and started searching for it. Thankfully, I wasn't fully out of luck today. The check was there and immediately my body lightened as I leaned on the seat. "Yes..." I sighed.

We both turned quiet and soon we reached home. Before going inside, I paused and he turned to me with a silent question.

"Well, you go in. I will return buying dinner." I was about to leave when "No need. Mrs Johnson already sent dinner before I came out."

"Huh? Mrs Johnson?" I was stunned.
