"Someone once said that death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside of us while we live. ." -One Tree Hill

**************

Allison is alive?

What the hell is going on here?

"You look baffled Kade. Allow me to explain." Aiden spoke casually.

"My real name is Owen Harrington, I'm a special agent. I'm a part of the bureau. Yes, that's right I work for the government. Allison here is my partner, her real name is Miranda, she's an agent too."

Aiden or Owen, walked a few paces towards us casually, "You see, the agency discovered that they' been infiltrated. One of our own had turned against us, but we didn't know who. So they sent me and Miranda to work undercover. For three years we'd been collecting information and gathering evidence, I pretended to be a drug dealing college kid and you didn't hesitate to become my supplier. Miranda here pretended to buy from me. It was the only way we could keep an eye on you. But I still needed to gain your trust completely, so you'd let me in on your operations, tell me where you were hiding the cocaine and your weapons. So we came up with an elaborate scheme. I pretended to kill Allison Wyatt for you so I could gain your trust and it worked. You lead me directly to your hiding place, we just had to wait for the perfect time to attack."

"What-how? That's not possible! I saw her body!" Kade spat out.

I knew it was true.

I'd seen Allison's body too.

"You have no idea how easy staging a murder is." Aiden chuckled.

My brain was reeling with all the new information.

"It's over Kade, you're going down." Aiden smirked as police officers starting lining up beside him.

Kade chuckled coldly, "It'll be over when I say it's over. Men!"

At the sound of his voice twenty or more burly men stepped out from the shadows, surrounding us. All of them were armed.

"Shoot them!" Kade ordered.

The next minute the sound of gunshots pierced the air. The bullets went whizzing by. Kade's men were shooting and so was the police, it was hard to tell who was winning.

The man restraining me loosened his grip a little, taking advantage of the moment, I managed to twist free. I aimed a kick to his side and he doubled over in pain.

I didn't waste any more time. I rushed towards Nate.

He was completely still, his chest wasn't moving.

With shaking fingers I checked for a pulse. My heart thudded wildly in my chest as I tried to concentrate.

And then I felt it.

I almost fainted with relief.

It was weak but it was there.

He had a pulse!

Nate was alive!

Thank God!

I had to get him out of here. I knew he needed to get to a hospital as soon as possible.

I kissed his forehead. "Hang in there Nate. I love you."

Suddenly someone yanked me up by my hair. I screamed.

"You're coming with me." Kade's cold voice hissed in my ear.

"No! Let me go." I clawed at his hands. My desperate eyes still on Nate.

He dragged me towards a flight of stairs. One of his men was waiting there.

"Is the helicopter here?" He demanded.

"Yes Sir."

Panic surged inside me and I began to struggle with even more fervor.

"Quit it!" Kade shouted. He smashed my head against the nearest wall. Blood dripped down from my forehead.

Black dots danced before my vision.

He kept dragging me until we reached the roof. I could hear juddering sound of the helicopter.

"Keep moving." He barked at me.

Once we reached the helicopter he roughly tried to push me inside but I was ready this time. I twisted around and rammed my elbow in his face.

His hold on me loosened and he staggered back.

I didn't waste another second, I quickly made a run for it.

I'd barely made it half way through when the sound of a gunshot reached my ears followed by a searing pain in my right calf. I toppled to the ground.

I tried to get up but my leg wouldn't move.

To my horror I saw Kade walking towards me.

I tried to crawl away but he was on me before I could make it any further.

He fisted my hair and yanked my head back painfully forcing me to look up at him. The look on his face was that of complete menace. His fist came down against my jaw and I cried out. He punched me again before letting me go and stepping back.

He took out his revolver and trained it at my head. "Time to die you little wench!" His finger found the trigger.

I squeezed my eyes shut.

"Nate, I love you." I whispered.

I heard the gunshot.

I waited.

Nothing happened.

I slowly opened my eyes to see Kade's body lying on the ground in front of me, a pool of blood was forming under him.

"Are you alright?"

My head snapped up and my eyes met Miranda's, she had a gun in her hand.

"Thanks Allison or Miranda, whatever your name is." I breathed out.

She knelt down beside me. "It's over Verena."

I turned to look back into Kade's lifeless eyes. "I guess it is."

I tried to get up again but my body wouldn't corporate.

"We need to get you to the hospital." She said seriously.

"No! You need to help Nate. And my brother Trevor, I don't know where he is but Kade bought him here, he may be hurt. Please go help them!" I said desperately.

"Don't worry we've already taken care of all that."

"They're going to be okay, right?" I asked in a small voice.

"Don't worry everything will be fine, eventually." Her voice was sounded strained.

I sighed.

They were going to be okay.

I could see the paramedics rushing in. I didn't argue as they lifted me up in the stretcher.

My eyes closed as I finally gave in to the exhaustion.
